I haven’t taken many pics of our trip to Alaska. Brayden and I have been busy digging an outhouse and cutting trees for a power line right of way. But we took a trip to Homer yesterday. It has become very touristy. When I was a little younger than Brayden we would spend time down there. Wasn’t much at all then, just a restaurant Land’s End and a pier. My brother and I would catch shrimp off the pier at night. I think they were attracted by the light. Things are different now, as with most progress “they’ve paved paradise and put up a parking lot”. But the kids had a good time in making their own memories.

Was just wondering today how your trip was going. Thanks for posting. Is that all dandelions?

Looks like a good way to spend some time in the summer. Would that be your granddaughter in the pictures?

That picture of the young lady and the dog water bowl cracked me up. Reminded me of my great g'daughter drinking from her grandma's dog watering bowl. Granny(my daughter) had a fit, dog didn't seem to mind.  Grin

Yep, a big ole field of dandelions. Somewhere near the Alaska/Canada border. My 2 grandkids are Shaelyn and Brayden. (I had to coax her into doing the pic)

Need more pics of the place. Still high on my bucket list to ride up there (Although you think I'm crazy for wanting to go to Dead Horse, among other things. Wink )

Great pics Rob, thanks for posting.  You're missing all the heat though.

Now Rob, when you say "Brayden and I have been busy digging" can you clarify who was actually holding the shovel?

Looks like the t-shirt with the baby-bump may have been somewhat restrictive  Smiley

I’ve been promoted to a mostly supervisory role these days.  Smiley (I think I’ve gained more than a couple lbs. in retirement)

Hey Matt, good to hear from you.  cooldude The grandkids definitely make things better.  cooldude I could do without anymore Disneyland trips though. Seems like we’ve been there a dozen times now over the years.

Rob,

Thanks for the update! Appears you're having one of those 'life-long memory maker' things for the grands, so more kudos for setting that up for them! Enjoy your 'heat-free' time in America's icebox...

DDT

P.S. Dig that 'privy' hole deep, my friend, you'll appreciate that later...
