I started a thread in the 1500 Tech group earlier but this may be a better place for it. I've been asked by different folks about where to take their Valks for repairs since they don't do their own work. There doesn't appear to be a centralized place where this info can be found, plus I'm sure it changes constantly as Honda dealers decide to quit working on them. This is what I have so far and I know it's pitifully incomplete so help out and add your recommendations! Maybe the powers that be (Connie ;-) want to set up a spot on this website for easy access? I will also post this on my sad little website https://www.valkyrieworld.com since I can easily update it there.

They would.  We have paid advertisers.  As to sticky posts, we can only have so many before the front page is overwhelmed.

I'm all for members sharing their experience individually.

I think it is sad when a 20 year old cycle is still in good shape and the local HONDA dealer who 'use to' sell them NO LONGER wants to work on them and refuses service.

same can be said for a 30+ year old car.  Local shop says take it elsewhere not their speciality better luck down the street at this older guy's small shop who likes to tinker with carbs, etc.

Had a similar experience with a 1980's old Ariens snowblower.  Taken in 3x's to same Ariens repair shop who use to sell them new in the 80's.  Never could get it running right to blow snow any distance at all and bogging out.  Paid him ONLY ONCE was a waste of money say 100 bucks when snowblower if running well worth only 175 bucks tops.  Talked to the owner of the Ariens snowblower shop and he said maybe he is thinking soon to NOT service any snowblowers older than say 15 years old.

Another similar issue with a VERY old 1970's rototiller taking it to what I know is a good mechanic supposedly locally.  It would start fine, but once in gear digging at all, would die instantly NO power.  He swore it was the carb so he replaced it with another used one he had laying around.  NO GO, same thing.  I took my time and disassembled the top cover plate to find out 2 or 3 gear/sprocket teeth broke off was the issue.  Wasted money there as well.  NO sprocket available for a 1970's tiller so junked it.

That's me. I just picked up a I/S from a gentleman in Chicago. Bike has been hydrolocked. Will be starting the disassemble soon. Also Chris Walters, son of Chet "Rattlebars"  sent me the carbs off of "Nightmare" to be rebuilt. It seams Chet sold "Nightmare" years ago and Chris got it back but not before it sat for several years. Now he's trying to get her running again. I have a few more sets of carbs to do but Redeye doesn't have kits yet. So I'm waiting.
