Been thinking of getting one. I already have 2 Weber barbeques and camp chef smoker. I decided to sell one of the Webers. I just don’t use them as much due to having the smoker now and besides, the smoker has a sear box that allows me to use it as a grill. The surface area is a lot smaller than the Webers and it’s really all I need when it’s just the two of us. I have a flat plate I put in the Weber when I want to cook breakfast outside, pancakes, bacon, eggs and that’s how it gets done one item at a time. I’m thinking having a flat top Grill would allow me to cook all three at once. Also, I t’s a great time to buy anything for outdoors as prices start to come down about now as we are half way through summer. Thanks. Anyway, if you have one, was it worth it and do you use it as often as you thought you would? I’m not one of your foodie type people, but I’m sure I would learn to use it for more things than just breakfast. I just don’t wanna buy it even had a good price and have it sitting around doing nothing.

Flat tops are nice. But I also use a flat plate on a 2nd grill.

One of the best things about it, especially if cooking for a big family is, you don't have to use any pots & pans. Yup, none to clean up. We usually just call " Come and get it!" and serve it onto the plate right off the grill. Fajitas and tacos don't even need a plate. Bacon - eggs - taters all at the same time.

Yes we have a gas range but the whole idea is to have some fun cooking outside and not having the cooking odours indoors.

get a cast iron flat griddle top to set on top of your gas grill. They come in different sizes and 1 takes up exactly half of my gas grill surface and works GREAT. I take off the heat shields on that side to allow more heat to heat up the heavy duty thick cast iron griddle top. NO need to buy a whole new flat top grille, just get the griddle top and set on top of your gas grille grates, works well. You can find them on sale a lot for 20-30 bucks each decent ones. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=cast+iron+griddle+trops&crid=1I6CRU4J5DM6N&sprefix=cast+iron+griddle+trops%2Caps%2C100&ref=nb_sb_nosswe got ours before XMAS time half price off at Kohls dept. store like 30 bucks or so. You can fit 6 burgers on there or say 8 eggs easy enough on one If you put 2 on your gas grille (one on each side) you could also do bacon/eggs/pancakes, etc. a full meal.

I often think I’d like to have one myself but since I’m now on the Biden diet plan, I couldn’t afford to put any food on it anyway.

congrats, hope you get decades of use out of it. We use our cast iron griddle on one side of our gas grill weekly (if not more) and pretty much does the same thing for 30 bucks. I take off the heat shield above the burners so more HEAT gets to the griddle and works great.

Ah, I did the same. Funny thing is, I had two Weber bbqs and I could have bought a flat plate that completely fit the whole cooking area. So I could have had one bbq as a permanent griddle and the other stay as a grill. Problem was, before I knew that, I had already committed to giving one away to a friend . Could of said I changed my mind but I wouldn’t have felt right doing that. Haven’t used the new one yet but I did heat it up a couple times to season the cooking surface.
