OK, first off my straps are too long and narrow.  I get them tangled in the ratchet mechanism, and fill the spool with too much unneeded strap.  The release mechanism also leaves much to be desired.  Of course, I'm a poor boy so I'm sure price was an object when I bought 'em.  It still is, but I'd like to move up to some sturdier straps with smaller hooks for my little Craftsman lift and most importantly a smooth ratchet and release.

What size/brand are you guys recommending?  Something with a rubberized handle could also be good to protect the paint and chrome farkles.

Smart straps they’re self retracting so you don’t have to fumble around with all that loose strap end’s

Some of my straps are cut for a particular use. I probably have 50 straps. American made if possible.

The spool should not be filling up if you pull the straps tight at this point.
