Any aficionados here ? There is a course near us and I thought I’d try it with the grandkids.

I just got home from a round with my son. Wind therapy to and from was the best part of the game. You use a smaller disc than the one I threw in college, what they now call ultimate frisbee. This is only the third time I played and i am still partial to the round ball version of golf but the price is certainly a powerful incentive to play the frisbee version. Three decent discs will set you back about $40 as opposed to my TaylorMade clubs that to replace today would probably be closer to $1000. No Greens fees on the courses around me for frisbee golf unless you want to play a tournament. Since I am officially an old fart with arthritis in my throwing arm, my best throws are around 150 feet. Par 3 disc golf hole are around 200 to 300 feet on the 2 courses I have played. I have seen some players throw well past that distance which I doubt I will ever match. Just to get out in the fresh air and chat with the son makes it worth the time though.

We have only played twice for a total of 17 holes. (It’s hard to motivate 9 year old girls and 63 year old women to walk the entire course) Stores are out of most stuff here. Finding frisbees is difficult. I’ve got the kids on a hunt today. Throwing little child’s discs sucks. It’s good, fun exercise for all of us.

We have played it, not enough movement for the wife and i. So we started pickleball 7 years ago. It can get pretty intense  and very competitive.

Played Frisbee Bocce once in college, the course was around the North campus at SUNY Buffalo in Amherst

That is about all the memory I will admit to of that day
