Got the outer baske in place and the big 46mm lock nut torqued and staked in place. Went to install the disk pak and it comes flush with the shaft, no threads available for the outer washer and nut...the disk pak is flush with the shaft and the pak doesn't set clear in. Looks like I have to remove the large lock nut and the basket(again) to see what I didn't do right. Any thoughts on what to look for, something is wrong and I guess I'll find out tomorrow. Angry

Turned out to be a non-issue...my mistake. Didn't have the disk pak splines fully engage so with a little wiggling of the pak it slipped into place. Oh well...not the first goof made in all the years I've twisting wrenches and certain it won't be the last. Lesson here is don't work on something at the end of the day when you're tired.  blush

NEXT QUIESTION: Can someone explain how the clutch lifter piece & rod works? How is the clutch actually lifted, I can't see how it happens since the hole in the center of the shaft is much longer than the two rods together.

This is all Greek to me, hope you took some pictures along the way. I know, tough to do when you have your hands busy and oily. Of course you could invite Nancy to come over and be your photographer and videographer! Win win for everybody.

John, sounds good in theory but not in practice. Nancy(as was Rita) is too smart to get involved and both stayed away from the shop while the magic was going on.  Wink
