Relive dropped me at Deals Gap  tickedoff

Every parking lot I can see riding up and over the Smokies is FULL at 9a.m. on a Friday morning. Doesn't anyone have to work anymore?

There are hundreds of traffic cones linked with yellow caution tape along each side of one section of Fighting Creek Rd. Very picturesque but needed because drivers can't be trusted NOT to park like dumb asses.

Standing by the eastern end of the Foothills Parkway taking a photo of my bike 3 of Maryville, TN's finest do a U turn in the parking lot where I am and vibrate their shirt sleeved way back west.

Well I'm here to ride the Parkway so I too ride west.

The posted speed limit is 25mph. Great for revenue generating and I keep at a steady 30 m.p.h. expecting there to be a speed trap set up somewhere ahead of me. It feels like I'm going to fall over in some of the curves.

30!!! on a road that 45 or 50 is a safe speed regarding curves etc.

After a painful  few miles the posted speed increases to a heady 30 m.p.h

Still no sign of the law and I'm fighting with myself to control my speed. It's difficult but the threat of a fine does help me.

A speed trap at the northern end of Deals Gap doesn't surprise me. What does is not one oncoming rider gave me a warning helmet tap.

The Deals Gap Grill is busy and it takes just over 30 minutes to get a burger and fries.

An uneventful ride home and bike safely in the garage by 3.30 p.m.

Too hot to ride here.  After my early morning walk, I went about pruning trees, and at 11:30AM, nearly passed out.  So that was it for the day.

They are promising 99 tomorrow.  I'm in love with my new HVAC unit.   Grin
