Saw a tv documentary about Tony Dow within the last year or so.  Like many childhood stars, he did some zigzagging and made some lousy decisions.  Apparently "Wally" was a tough role for him to break from in the acting world, and Tony felt typecasted.  He had some issues but lived a humble, low-key life the last several decades.  R.I.P..
