At the Billings InZane one of Daniel Meyer's tech sessions
included 2014 Valkyries for the first time.

Besides Daniel having a 2014 Valkyrie, another member (I've
waited too long to make this post to remember his name Smiley ) ...
was integral to making one of the tech sessions new-valk-centric.

We talked about problems and things we like about the bikes, and
changes we've made to them.

Connie said she thought my handlebars would seem like a brutal hack,
but after looking at the bike she said it "looked OK" Smiley ...

I've ridden my 2014 Valkyrie most of the way across the country
twice now. And all through the South. Here's a paean for Chewy!

And just how do they cheat Mike?

 Wink

I was involved in a couple of, what I thought, were 5th-gear-roll ons.
It's not really cheating since, after poking fun at me for getting
"spanked like a kid at walmart", they let me know that perhaps
4th gear was  being used by some of us...

Our 3rd gear 2,000 rpm roll ons showed me the difference between the 1500 and 1800 and was instrumental in me buying an 1800 when the right one at the right price was advertised. cooldude

Even knowing it would be close, the reality of the spanking I got when the spousal unit on her ST1300 rolled on me on my Valk Standard left quite the sting.....

But even worse was her habit of only fueling up every other time I stopped for fuel, and almost being able to stretch it to every 3rd time the Valk needed fuel.....

Riding in far rural west Texas was kinda nice though, some of those places are 100-120 miles between gas stations, so was nice to have a backup plan if the Valk couldn't quite reach the next gas station...

I'd have to say... that following Mike and Chewy on my 1500 Valk while making more than a few WOT vehicle passes... It's not even close. Typically we would be going around someone observing the speed limit. Many times I've been close enough behind him to anticipate the drop to 4th and roll on, and also close enough see his hand motions. I could follow suit within a fraction of a second. By the time we both finish the pass and get back into our lane, he is multiple car lengths ahead. I realize at those speeds the gap is just a second or so, but visually it seems like getting dusted!  Huh?

At Billings Inzane - 2017, our group spent the day riding out to a few of the must-see spots, then on our way back to the hotel we got chased by that big hail storm that came about late in the afternoon. I was riding 3rd out of about 7 bikes, with our lead rider on an '08 Wing and the second rider on his F6B. They took of like bats out of he** when the hail storm came upon our group, trying to outrun it. With a few cars in between me and the rest of the riders and me having zero idea how to get back to Ground Zero, I made the decision to take off with the Wing and the B. It was all I could do to pass enough traffic in order to keep them in site...one of the obvious occasions I've had to experience the differences between the 1800's and my old Interstate.

Flame suit on.

Crappy way to lead a ride.

Would love to have the performance of an F6B in my Valkyrie but, I still just can't give up on the difference in the way they look.   Admittedly, the F6B is a stronger and better handling bike (it does just about everything better) but when it comes to looks, it's not even close (for me).   To each their own.

I agree. I had to sell my 1500 having no room for it in Maggie Valley apart from it sitting covered outside.
