For the first time in my life, I saw black bear in the wild today. I was heading west on route 122 in Petersham, west of the 32 north junction and east of the New Salem line. My speed was about 5 mph above the limit. As I looked down the road I saw black shapes on the eastbound shoulder. As I got closer I saw three bear cubs begin to cross 122. I didn't see the mama-bear. I slowed down and gave them plenty of room so that could cross safely. It kinda made my day. Don't see black bear we're I live.   cooldude

Just wait until they start feeling comfortable and roaming your back lawn Tony....
We have had them in our trees, just off the lawns.....

Bear sitings in my area are rare. So it was a novelty for me to see three cubs scurrying across the road.  Wink

I have always enjoyed watching black bears Tony, especially from a safe distance.
Once they become comfortable in an area, expect to have more sightings.....
