Weather permitting, Patron has agreed to lead a ride up to Meer's Store, Saturday May 3rd.

7:30am Kickstands up at Brookshire Bros. on the east side of Preston Road, just south of 455 and Preston Rd. (The old Preston Cattle Trail, Hwy. 289) There is a gas station at that location. Tanks full and bladders empty!

This will be a day trip of over 400 miles round trip to/from Celina for Longhorn Beef burgers at Meer's Store with some very scenic sights to behold along the way. Check out Meer's Store at their site, http://www.meersstore.com They do not take plastic!

Pleasant weather is mandatory and that judgement will be made by Stan as the ride date approaches. And yes, he is factoring in the likelihood that Rainmaker will be on the ride.

We may even get some of the Oklahoma Valkers to join us for lunch? There very well could be some of us camping and/or moteling up that way and returning by way of Marietta, OK Sunday for lunch with Baron's group at McGeHee's Catfish around 11:30. Good practice for being away from home for Robbers Cave two weeks later. ~Jeff

Just south of Meers Store is Mt. Scott.  A ride to the area always has to include a ride to the top of Mt. Scott.  I found this picture from a couple years ago.  Not at the top but along the road to the top.  If it is a clear day the view from Mt. Scott can be pretty spectacular.

Poll added. I would have put this in Stan's more recent thread, but it looks like only the person that starts the thread can add a poll to it. ~Jeff
