Well, I'm no where near the stated locations (and I don't drink beer) but, if you happen to make it down south (anywhere near Hattiesburg, MS) I'd be happy to meet up.   Yeah, I know.   Not likely to happen but, here's a bump for your thread.   Enjoy the trip.   cooldude

I bet you mean Michigan and not Minnesota if you are going from Ohio to Sault St Marie because Minnesota would be way out of the way for you as you would have to go through Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin to get to Minnesota from Ohio.

Being you will be in the Orlando area in Oct. keep the space coast in mind

https://www.nasa.gov/launchschedule/

You have some possible rocket launches during your time there. Kennedy Space Center is only 50 miles to the east. If you got time take the tour.

Cocoa Beach is near by that. Nice beach.

Hello from E Tennessee !!  While in Birmingham try to check out the Barber Motorsports Museum. It's just off I-20 east of Birmingham near Leeds, Alabama.  Awesome place.

The monuments and museums along the "quad" is a great thing to see as well as other sights around.  I can put you in touch with the GREATEST DC tour guide there is.

I grew up with Alan and everyone that tours with him has wonderful things to say.  Let me know if you are interested and I can have him get in touch with you.

I could not agree more that the WPAFM is a must see.  Allow yourself a full day if you go, there are 3 hangers crammed full with planes, rockets, and displays covering everything from the Wright brothers to the space age.  Here is a panoramic view of one of the hangers when we visited on our way to the Athens OH Inzane.  Save the image and open it in a separate viewer if you can't zoom it here.
