All,

I just noticed over the last couple of days that my temp idiot light has been coming on and off.  My coolant is good, my fan is coming on as it should periodically.  I've done some reading on this awesome website, and it seems that I may be getting false indicators.   After goiung through many posts and searches on Google - it seems that I should conisder replacing the part number 38710-MZ0-003.

Only problem >> the part is not available.  Nice!  Are there any other things i can do to get this part?  I'm very certain that this is the solution.  However in talking to one of the service techs i use from time to time - He wants to see if there is a ground issue.

Your thoughts - my friends?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Rewire it so the setup matches the 2000-up design.

My 1999 Standard has done that since I bought it in 2010.
I bookmarked the fix from a post on here but decided not
to fix it since it has never caused a problem.

I agree with Klb. Mine has always done the same, copied the upgrade fix, but haven’t done it yet. I know my bikes in good shape so not to worried about it. I do plan to someday, but have another valk I’m rebuilding at this time. Simple upgrade if the light bothers you.
