Ordered a replacement

How in the world do I access the other end of it?

Do I have to take off the tank?

If I could get the battery box out would I be able to see where the other end goes

Imagining it goes to the starter but that is just a guess

The battery cable has two other ends. One other end hooks onto that green
relay that you read about melting sometimes. The other other end goes to...
I'm not sure... my guess is the starter, but... someone knows... it is probably hard
remove the battery box...

Between the battery positive(+) and the starter motor, there's the intermediary starter relay. The *other end* of the battery cable bolts onto the B post on the starter relay (B=battery). Take a pic of the old wire routing in case it's needed. Note orientation of the connector.

[edit] true dat, hubcapsc, the second starter motor cable goes from the starter relay's M post to the starter motor. (bottom pic., M=motor)

Pressing the start button energizes an electromagnet switch in the starter relay that internally bridges the relay's B post and the relay's M post allowing electricity to flow from the battery to the starter motor.

The battery box is not that hard to remove. I have done it just to clean it
