As some of you might have read,my mother-in-law had been poorly in hospital since before Christmas. She had an ulcer on her foot which was so bad she then had to have her leg amputated.
The morphine she was taking then gave her bowell problems and she ended up perforating her bowell. She was in so much pain, she then caught a chest infection but because of the pain in her stomach she couldnt cough, she then ended up with pneumonia.

She died on the 6th January, aged 77 and will be sadly missed.

My daughter who is 15 is going to sing at her funeral next Friday, there will not be a dry eye in the house.

Prayers from TEXAS pitbull.  I don't know how those kids do it.  I have witnessed kids speaking at the funeral of their mother and like you said, not a dry eye in the house...

Prayers on the way,
Hay

Sorry for your loss  Sad

The 6th to the 29th seems like a long time to keep the body  Undecided

Is that common practice in the UK ?

I agree with prayers for Family. I also am sad for the pain the Lady went thru in her passing. She must have gone thru hell.  Cry

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers,,

My wife is an only child, she lost her Dad when she was 7 years old and at this time she feels completely lost and alone.I know I felt the same when my mother died,so your thoughts and prayers will help her.

SmokinJoe,normally a funeral will take place in a week or so,but for some reason the Christmas period always sees an increase in people passing away.We also get an increase with people passing in cold weather.Through December and the New year the whole country had 4-5 inches of snow, the crematoriums are now very busy.

The UK just cannot cope withany amount of snow.

Once again,thanks

Poor thing.  Sounds like she had a really tough time before a merciful end.  RIP mum-in-law
