My project bike did not have a fuel selector knob or plate. The PO just had a piece of PVC tube pressed over the square fitting an the petcock. I found the missing parts on e-bay.
How does it bolt to the bike?
Also, I installed a petcock kit and found there was no filter over the brass tube of the petcock.
Where can I get that filter?
Thanks

The filter might be stuck up inside the tank. Look close and pry it out.

It might seem floppy and crooked at first, but if you
fiddle with it you can get it hanging on there straight
and it will work without binding...

Like Sandy said, that filter gets stuck in the tank and you
might have to yank it out...

SCREEN SET, FUEL STRAINER - 16952-MZ0-003 - about $20

COVER SET, PETCOCK - 16953-MBZ-B51 - about $40

The "cover set" is how to rebuild the petcock... a good petcock is
real important, you'll hear a bunch on here about "hydro lock"...

you'll need a 6 x 28 flange bolt. I forget whether the bolt screws into a threaded boss or a nut is required.

Thanks guys. you were right. The filter was stuck in the tank.
The diagrams don't show where the petcock knob plate is mounted. I'm assuming it is the middle bolt on the rear of the motor mount, between the motor mount and the coil bracket. I should be able to figure it out once I get the tank back on. But first, 4 of the 6 carberators are leaking fuel, so next step is to pull carbs.

Appears you have the bolt.
