2014 Valkyrie 1800

Seminole, Florida

« on: January 24, 2010, 07:02:28 AM »

I was invited on a group ride yesterday, I reluctantly accepted. I tend to stay clear of group rides. Me and a couple of buds works well for me. This was great. We tackled some of Florida's best roads and wound up at "Sleepy Hollow" fish camp.  Bon fire, live music. They ussualy have BBQ on the weekends for the riders, this weekend it was Rib-eye steaks and baked potatoe, with corn on the cobb. Food was fantastic, airboats passing behind us in the wetlands, cool temps, dry roads, great day. Unfortunately, I was the only Valkyrie. Probably several thousand bikes by the time we left.

All kinds of bikes present

This wonderfull couple lead the ride and let me tell you, this man could ride.  I complimented him later on his choicce of roads and his advanced riding skills cooldude Turns out this man is 86 years young, his wife just 84. Wow what wonderfull folks, really enjoyed meeting them and the ride they took me on cooldude The great part is, they live about 2 miles from my home and I never knew it. He's been retired for 30 years, looking forward to hooking up for another ride with these fine folks in the future. Thanks for the tour!!!

Almost forgot...one more pic from yesterday's ride. I did not get to view the women through these goggles, they all appeared in original format for me.
Yup, Florida is not too bad, as long as you stay away from the beaches and the tourists cooldude

That guy’s 84 years old!  And he started riding when he was 54!  WOW!  Wish when I get to be 54, I’ve got a wife that’s got some guts to try something different!

What a neat thing to be able to participate in, the pictures made me wish I had a weekend to spend in your neck of the woods.
