6 bowl gaskets cost around $100. So at $26. for 6 entire rebuild kit, this seems like a steal.
4 of my carburetors are leaking around the bowl gaskets. The plan is to throw out most the other stuff and just use the gaskets. Has anyone tried the gaskets from these kits?

Made in China, that's all I need to know to pass on them. Rebuild kits are too critical to take a chance on quality.

Are you sure it’s the float bowls that are leaking ? It’s much more common for the leaking to be from the fuel rail o-rings.

Is Redeye still doing carb kits?

I need to rebuild a spare 49-state set I have and swap the CA parts on my Tourer for them.

I tried some Ebay rebuild kits a couple years ago and were just a big waste of time.  Nothing was right, there was like 1 o-ring that I could have used.  Don't waste your time & money get an All Balls rebuild kit or many recommend Redeye if you can get in touch with them.

ETA:
The All Balls kits have worked well for me and a complete rebuild kit including fuel rail o-rings can be had for about $110.

I have contemplated doing the same a number of times "just to see."

I have refrained from doing so because taking the carburetors out, disassembling, cleaning, rebuilding, reassembling, then reinstalling is already enough of a pain in the butt.  I don't need to do it twice just to confirm that I wasted $20 to save $90 and should have bought the already-proven All Balls or Redeye components.

Their wheel bearings are pretty low rent from my experience on the 1600 Vulcan I owned 3 yrs. ago but....

I tested for leaks again, and the fuel rail o-rings are leaking. Maybe fuel running down from there is making it look as though the bowl gaskets are leaking. I hate buying complete rebuild kits, when all I need is a few o-rings. I usualy get my o-rings from the oring store, but I'm having trouble finding somewhere that lists the size. Any one know the size of those o-rings?

But here's the sizes I've used and so far so good after a couple years.

Yes- those are the sizes and material, FKM being  the same thing as Viton, and they're usually called out as V1.9 x 7.8 etc; they go in pretty tight, but that's a good thing.

Also, V1.0 x 3.0 for the mixture screw.

I got mine from The O-Ring Store-  get 'em all at the same time- o-rings are cheap, but shipping's expensive...

tighten the end nuts of the carburetor thru bolts. usually 1/16" turn is all that is needed. they do come loose over the miles. I've had to tighten the left side once in 75k miles.

We bought several 30 dollars kits from ebay but after what we have went thur i dont recommend them because 80% of the kit is useless. i recommend just buying gasket kits and using a sonic cleaner and cleaning everything and re use all the old jets and needles inside the slides, if you want to buy a kit i hear all balls kit is the way to go but i was told to use a better float needle which i just purchased on amazon for 35 buck it's the k & L ‎18-8955 float needles

all we used from ebay kit is gaskets for bowl and air box side, use the fuel air mixture screw, one bike we used the float needles and currently doing good but then i learned of the better ones, and we used the o rings for slide where the needle is held in other then that all the rest is unused

i just replaced all the O rings in the vapor rail and fuel rails also on the air cut valves these was all the o rings i purchased. i can't Rember if i used the 4.5 or the 4 x 1.5 on the air cut valves just ordered both to be safe since they was so cheap

Thanks for the o-ring list.
Since the only reason I will be pulling the carbs is to fix fuel leaks. I will skip the rebuild kits and just order o-rings. I will also dissasemble and clean the carbs, but expect to be able to reuse the origional parts.
