If not, take the citation before a Judge and plead your case that is common pratice to park like that at the Theater.....

True, it is against the law in most communities to park on the sidewalk, but some cities have let it happen and now they pop a citation without warning.....

A good Judge will dismiss the citation......

My cop acquaintance asked if everyone was ticketed.  The kid says he didn't see any  stuck in the other helmets.
The sidewalk runs around a building that is in the middle of a private parking lot  and is not the city sidewalk. Since the bike was not in a handicap spot or in front of a fire door, and there was no sign forbidding parking I told the kid to see the judge and ask for it to be dismissed.
 In my town the police won't even write tickets  for uninsured cars that get in fender benders in  private lots.
