Looking through some old emails and found this I had been wondering when I joined. I cannot believe it took that long after I bought my 01 1500 valk to find the board. It was like 03 when I bought my Valk 0 mileage and right off the showroom floor. I had looked at the bike for a few years and thought, one day I would own one. The day I pulled the trigger and bought it was a good day. I had looked at the bike in the showroom three separate times before I put the money down. The bike now might be in Norway since the new owner had it shipped there after I sold it years later with about 80k on the odometer. Learned many things about the bike from some who had played with them quite a bit here. Now I would have to say that many are gone.

So how long have anyone else been on the board?

This is not from the VRCC.  I think it might be VOA.

You registered on the forum March 03, 2009.  Which is basically when we switched to this platform, so you were likely a member before that.

Thanks I didn't really dawn on me to look closer. After you mentioned it, I think you may be right. Didn't hold water to the VRCC and some of the same board member's, but it was not good. Didnt they go out shortly after they started?

Thats better the date I have is 08 on this.

The VOA kept trying to get things going for a long time... evidenced by you joining. Idk when (or if) they gave up.

I tried to look up the date you joined the VRCC.  Unfortunately, the date is not listed.  The date on the above email from VRCC is May 15, 2007.  But that was requesting your password, so still doesn't tell when you actually joined (which would have been before that).  The email you used then is different that what you are using on this forum.

Lots
Off the top of my head...
Don & Tracy, JimC, Lothair, Challenger, Mel from ND, Valker, Pierre and Normand (he won best bike at americade with his custom standard) from Montreal    I am not sure if Charliemac was also in voai when I joined in 2002

Although I do not remember if they were members I met Britman on a ride to Maggie Valley and have no idea when I first met Smokinjoe and the cool kids, and 3Wlonerider, Chrome and Gig

We have lost some great people like RJ  and Dan Stocker and many others as time marches on

Taz is alive and well.  We interact on FB here and there.
I was a member of VOAI.  I think I had a life membership; not sure though.

I've been with VRCC since it's inception and before that, with VOAI since it's inception (until it started coming apart) and before that the Valkyrie SIG.

Just for S&G I searched my old e-mail archives, the oldest mention of "VRCC" I found was an e-mail to the spousal unit on May 3rd, 2001....

I was cutting and pasting some posts from the old forum about a Hartco seat that I'd just ordered.....

Quote
I just returned from a 6-day, 2,600 mile ride (4 days of hard riding, 3 days
of local riding). The longest day was 670 miles that spanned 16 hours (gas
stops, food stops, tourist stops included).

This is the only seat I've ever owned that caused ZERO discomfort on very
long rides, with not even the slightest buttache over the entire trip. I
can't recommend this seat enough.

VRCC #6631

And

Quote
I haven't ridden my Hartco butt supporter that long yet, but I will say
this:

In over 30 years of mounting a bike, I've experienced four WOWS!

1) the very first time that I went for a ride on

a motorcycle;
2) the very first time I took the Valk for a test

ride;
3) the very first time I sat on a Hartco seat on

my Valk; and,
4) the very first time that I put some TBR 6-2s

on my Valk and took her for a spin.

The Hartco seat qualifies as one of my four WOWS!
in 30 years of motorcycling.

ChaoSun

And my note to the spousal unit that I'd just purchased one... (Note the price including shipping!)

"I called the guy (Mike Hartco, of Hartco motorcycle seats) and talked to
him. They're custom building a seat for me, no concho's, no studs, built for
my big butt and my size. Should be here in under 30 days.

Oh, and it's well under 1/2 the price of a mass-produced Corbin. (Little
under $300 w/ shipping)

Oh, and according to Mike Hartco, it'll work just fine with the Utopia
backrest. =)"

...that seat is STILL on my Valkyrie standard to this day! (I had it re-upholstered a decade or so ago though)

Hey Robert... vanagon40's letter is dated 6/30/2006.  Your membership number is lower than his. I'm thinking you registered in sometime in 2005.

I don’t remember when I first found the VRCC but it was somewhere around 2001-2002 I think. I utilized the tech board to learn everything I know about the Valkyrie back then. What i do remember is that it was not hard to find some very toxic conversations on the general board the few times I ventured there. It would make our PAM board look pretty tame. Anyway my only claim to fame from the early days is my official VRCC card that allowed me entrance into all the secret meetings and blackball sessions  Grin
