the police bike is fixed
Well enough to ride

changed out the starter that was fubar  needed 3 extensions to get to it after removing all the tupperware

The aux fan runs as soon as key turned  Maybe a relay was fried?
So fuse pulled, end of problem  only the police model has that oil cooler for when it is idling for long stretches.   I also pulled the extra battery years ago as it really only is for accessories

Had it on the 8 amp charger while  he was working on it

Steve did something(while I was changing out the mirrors) to the engine and got it to finally run

After it was running for about 10 minutes or so it got its mojo back and ran smoothly

Put air in the tires and a small ride

Hey it was in the lower 30s and windy

When I returned I hit the starter on the Valk and she started right up as well

Now I can commute again if I feel the urge to be on the bike, but I do not like riding at night so unless I will be leaving work by 3 doubt that will happen much till spring

Got the I/S out the other day, 36° so just a trip around the block. But I got the gas rotated in the carbs and a grin. Happy motoring.

Good news, Oss, thanks for sharing. I got to ride my old Valk again today. The vibration did turn out to be the old U-joint. It's changed and the vibration is gone.

yah, am hoping that is me this Thursday Thanksgiving day and this weekend last chance to get er dun and put them both away in 40's for a high, HEAT wave for sure.    Not going to see relatives this year Thanksgiving is fine with me have to take care of house stuff before winter REALLY sets in.  I also have to change oil on car and put snow tires on as well so busy Thursday and coming weekend MUST DO's.  I always WAIT to do stuff until the last minute every late fall.
