Pawing at your face while you are sleeping. Cats aren't very good at smothering people, but this won't stop them from trying.

My cats did all that and purred at the same time, I guess I should have worried.

Many years ago, I ended up sleeping on a couch in my cousin's living room.

I woke up with her cat sucking on one of my ear lobes.  (sandpaper tongues)

I threw it across the room (before fully awake).   And never got back to sleep.

Throwing your own earlobe across the room would seem to be a detriment to sleep.
