I use Avons too, but I got one of these on many recommendations last year when
tires were hard to find:

I too have the shinko journey’s on my interstate (front and rear) I’ve heard people have had issues, but I’ve been happy with them the past year.

Plus 1 on Shinkos - not a premium tire but a really good tire. I put 5000 miles on them probably get another 3-5k on the rear.

Another Shinko advocate.

I run DS on the rear of my Valk and one of my shadow tourers.  On the front of all and the rear of my 2nd tourer are shinko.  I also used Shinko on my Kawi's (Nomad and Classic) when I had them.  They're all  I use.  Have ridden several different models, 777, Journey and a couple of others.  Usually get 15 to 18K on them easily.  Had to replace one 890 on the rear of the Nomad during a long ride across the country.  Had about 9K on it, but this was riding western states with triple digit temps every day.
