Sent a birthday gift to my niece in Florida , priority two day.  Took a full week.  Wonder if I get a refund.
Maybe they should mail it to me.

I have been having the same problem. Took 25 days to receive a mailing sent from Illinois to Wisconsin. Used to take 2 to 3 days.

rarely ever used USPS since they seem slower than all others the few times used them in my life.

Amazon lost my order once, waited a few more weeks, and went online said never received it which did not so they shipped me out another one for free within a few days had 2nd one to my house.  1st one then arrived about 2 weeks later so I kept it.  LOL

Use to I'd drive by the Post Office on the way to work (0630) and see them loading up stuff at the PO (just a mile down the road).

Now, when I drive by at 1100 or so, They are loading up their "Vans" with packages and boxes and stuff.  Way more than three or four years ago.   Did the "on-line" shopping really get that hot (due to the China Virus) or..... did something else change.

Use to be we would get mail by 1600 now, its 1900 or 2000 for mail.    Which means the Malman works 12 hours?????  Really.....

UPS drops off truckloads of packages at our post office for the mailman to deliver. The USPS carriers here sometimes have to make two trips back to the post office to deliver all the extra packages. This has added at least two days to delivery time for anything I have ordered lately.

My mail used to be delivered by around 9:30-10:00am. Now I'm lucky to get it by 2:00pm. I asked the gal delivering it and she said her route hasn't changed, just the load. Told me the amount of little stuff has tripled in the last couple years, which means she spends more time jumping out of the van and running up to the door.

Ours has issues with not having a regular route person running it (so it gets shifted around to various different carriers), and we can usually count on the mail being delivered "sometime on the scheduled day" (usually in the afternoon). One reason I have something that lets me know the mailbox door has been opened. Our new Blink video doorbell could also tell, but there are current service issues since yesterday afternoon.

Our mail delivery was pretty darn sporadic for the first year after I moved to MS.   Sometimes it would take from days to weeks for a next day delivery.   I asked our postal lady and she couldn't explain it.   I also noticed that many times when folks were attempting to come visit us that they would end up calling and saying they had arrived but, no one was home (while I sat at home waiting on them).

Something was off.   So I did a little investigation and discovered that there was another address (almost) identical to mine.   That street ended with "Lane", my street ends with "Drive".   Same names otherwise.   So, now I'm ticked at the post office.   Turns out the post office uses the same system that police, fire and ambulances use and our street had never been added to the system.   Only took one call to get that correction started but, the whole time I'm thinking that I'm glad I didn't need a LEO or ambulance.   They would have gone to the other side of Hattiesburg.

It's been fixed now and our mail seems to be timely now.

I don't know why you want mail.... most of mine is junk, and the rest are bills.

Delivery was midday for decades, now it's after dark.

I had one mailman (George) for many years.  Lived in the same neighborhood.  Liked guns and bikes too, and had an old 1200 Goldwing.  We became good friends.  I fixed one of his old rifles.  He retired and moved away, and now the mail delivery person changes daily/weekly.  I miss George.

My best mail story.  A little boy down the street decided he wanted to be a mailman too.  So he went down the street taking everyone's mail out of the boxes, shuffled it up, and delivered it again.  It was not uncommon to occasionally get a neighbor's letter in your box, but for a couple weeks, everyone got mail from the whole neighborhood.  Kid was so small, he really had to work at reaching up into the boxes.  How he got away with it for two weeks in broad daylight, no one knows.  No arrests were made.

My 2d best mail story.  The neighborhood streets were being repaved.  The wife and I went away for a week, and I paid all my bills and posted them for pickup before driving away.  When we got home, my mailbox had been pulled out and leaned against a tree.  The flag was still up, and all my paid bills were inside.  I called my creditors to explain lateness.... most said they had heard all kinds of stories, but mine seemed almost believable.   Grin

I like my small town mail service. I taught school here for 40 years.
Here's my actual name and address:
Eric West
1923 Grape Lane

I once got a letter, not even slightly delayed, that was addressed thusly:
Harry Quest
1923 Grey Plain

If you read it aloud, you'll see that this really is a small town.

If you ever make it out this way again, no bunkbeds, plenty of room, indoor shop. Thanks for coming last time. It's a treasured memory. smitten

UPS is a joke nowadays as well.

Package coming from Italy. Adult signature required.

Notification it will arrive 12/6. Failed delivery 12/5 1p.m. .

Get told it will be delivered 12/7. Failed delivery 12/6 1.35p.m.

Get told 3  times  it will be delivered 12/8.

Then get told it will be delivered 12/7.

A 3rd failed delivery means a surcharge of $20 or pickup from the UPS facility. After 4 days package will be returned to Italy. So I'm sitting at home waiting for a supposed delivery 12/7.

Telling us a delivery window of 3.45p.m. to 5.45p.m and then telling us that time window is just a rough guide.

I've had no problems with the USPS.  Each year I ship a hundred or more calendars that arrive without issue.

I have shipped motorcycle parts and other small packages by USPS.  Likewise I have received packages from others using the USPS.

Our mail delivery once took place around ten in the morning.  These days it is closer to nine.

I almost always use USPS.

This is a good place to mention: I recently learned about an online shipping place called "pirateship".

You go through them and end up with a shipping label and you can take your stuff to The UPS Store
and they ship it.

If you use their email customer support you end up getting their contributions embedded in a
bunch of "ahoy there matey!" silliness.

I shipped an acoustic guitar, it got to California safely and quickly and cost like $40 or $50
instead of $160 or so  Shocked ...

NO delivery today. They did change it to be by 7p.m. today but someone here or overseas realized today was Wednesday not Thursday so now it's back to a Thursday delivery between 3.45p.m. and 5.45 p.m. (remember that's just a rough guide.) even though the 2 failed deliveries were between 1 and 2 p.m.
