I pulled the tank and airbox and the PAIR boxes and every tube I could find in that mess. I installed the plugs on the intake tubes. I now have some questions. I two sets of six tiny tubes that I think are three bowl drains each side and then six I don't know where they go. They appear to drain under the bike. The left bank of carbs are all the same but, the right bank is not. 1 and 5 look similar and 3 is different. All six have a metal tube sticking out the side awaiting a (?) vacuum tube. All the tubes come out at a 90 degree angle horizontally. Number 3 the tube is vertical and 1 and six the tubes are on opposite sides of the carb. I would like to know what they are and where they go. There is also a 1/4 inch plastic tube on each side pointed to the middle of the engine...?? Any help is apricated. Still don't know how to post pictures to the site but I can email them to any one that wants to help. I can also use a phone. I am in SF CA area which explains the CA carbs. Thanks, bill.

That is where I started. I have removed everything but there are no clear shots of what is left when done. I am ready to start putting things back together but need a better picture of what is left, where the remaining tubes come and go. Thanks, bill. Maybe I can be more clear there are three tubes from the bottom of the carb banks, from the bottom of the carbs - drains. There are three tubes from each bank coming from the side of the carb- vacuum ?? Block them?? There is a large diameter tube next to the fuel line on each bank - vent?? block it?? Or do some of these go to the airbox? I can just make out the large tubes in the photos you referenced running out the bottom of the picture. I don't see the small lines running from the sides of the carbs but can find them in the parts ficsh for Partzilla and it says they are to the Vac Assy. Go away? The three from the side are #24,25,26,27,28 to the Purge joint. Go away and plug?? Any help? Thanks bill.

The six tubes ( 1 ea carb) that come from the side of the carbs needs to be capped off, there is also a small tube on #3 carb that needs to be capped off.
The tubes on the bottom of the float bowls, needs to remain for draining the carbs.
The two larger tubes are vents, don't block or cap these, you could put a "T" and run it back to the carb brace and secure it pointing down to prevent any water from getting in.

Glad you replied as I have started putting it all back together and plugged everything. I will go out and unplug the vent. I hope to get this back together before Christmas and test it all. Thanks for the answers. Any other tips you may have I would love to hear.
Thanks,
bill.

Well, so far. Seems Christmas got in the way. I never seem to have all the stuff that is required to run Christmas for a family in mind, just motorcycle stuff. The lady I have spent the last 54 years with has, as usual, a different idea. I got the lines plugged that needed plugged (I think) and after a bit of an adventure I got the airbox back in. I am in the process of fixing a few things before replacing the tank. I have three fuel tanks including the original so those lines needed sorting after the removal of all the garbage under the airbox. Comm. lines needed moving. and with a complete lack of access to the right hand side of the bike (check my name) it all gets a bit complicated, not to mention all right hand side work is done upside down leaning over the frame. (That did make finding the #3 extra line very difficult.) With a couple of medical issues arising everything got bogged down. I will once again begin the finish work after New Years Day. I would not have made it this far without your help. Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you and yours.
P.S. I would send you a picture of the rig if I knew my member number, but if you like I will send one to your email so you can maybe understand what I am working on.

When a schematic is needed go to the parts sellers online . They have pictures for all parts on the bike.

I have it running and ready to test drive BUT, it won't idle without a lot of choke and only then when the temp is up. There is a lot of crackling in the exhaust. Not sure what to check now and I have a trip to AZ the 15 of next month. Suggestions?? bill.
