another curiosity oem Honda parts for ( at least the year 2000) GL1500C, GL1500CF  and GL1500CT all share the same rear wheel dampers 06410-MBH-000 yet the parts diagram show that the GL1500C and CT have for separate purchase 41242-MR5-000 damper wheel piece and the CF doesn't. ?? Curiouser and curiouser!

They changed how they make them, but they are functionally equivalent.

The newer ones are cheaper and one piece. For the older ones you
have to buy the rubber part and and aluminum insert separately.

I always use the new ones on my 97...

The one-piece dampers outperform and outlast the original 2-piece dampers (rubber and insert).  I believe they discontinued the 2-piece as a result (and to simplify the supply chain).

I don't think so.  I think they are still rubber.  Years ago, a fellow made some poly dampers (one piece) and sold them, and I put them in both bikes, and they are still like new.  Less slop than rubber.  (But some early ones crumbled badly.  Not mine).

The maker fellow later passed on (I think).  Gary something?  Shock bushing Gary?

On a related matter, years ago my wife's Ford Taurus continuously broke motor mounts (rubber). Until we went to upgrade poly motor mounts.

I has a set of Gray's and new OEM, they both felt the same and had same hardness.
