I am in the process of setting up some routes for 2023.   I like WV, KY and Parts of OH.   I also like AR and MO.

I live in SC.

Going west would be nice but will have to convince the spousal unit that we would need to do several 400+ mile days.

If you have any suggestion would love to see them.

Don't know the best way to share them but I still use Microsoft Trips and Streets.  GPX files would work.  Or just a picture  Cheesy

Thanks.

cooldude After 2021 InZane I'll be making another trip up to the Athens, OH area. Loved the roads especially the Triple Nickle, 555!!  smitten In fact every InZane has had some great areas to ride. 2016 Blacksburg, WVA; 2018 Roanoke, VA; Asheville, NC 2020 and as mentioned Athens. If I was headed out and time not a big issue I would want to visit all those areas which could in my mind be done in 2 weeks. I think each state has a MC website for roads to travel. I hope others chime in and give you name and road numbers. Have fun! coolsmiley

I have not thought about doing the BRP bottom to top.  I think I did it once in a car many years ago but....

Athens Ohio has nice surprising nice roads around there.   Not bad and we sort have been back.

Here are some routes on my mental list.  I know these images are old school but....

First a late winter trip to FL.  Tried it last year but got into some very heavy rain and did not do the Panhandle Gulf Coast part.

Then, maybe late April early Map one of these two.

Then September maybe this

And one more from the past to do again.

It's just sort of right now, I might have been there done that kind of thing.  I know, there are many roads out there.

Shell Island Fish Camp, St. Marks FL is an old time place to stay.

St. Marks lighthouse is worth a visit.

This year we pulled our Aspen camper and took the month of June and 2 weeks in July and rode west from Wisconsin to the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho (Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin). Than the last 2 weeks of September and all of October we rode from Wisconsin to Tellico Plains, the Cherohala Skyway, Blue Ridge Parkway, Skyline Drive and turned around and rode back again to Tellico Plains and home through the Daniel Boone National Forest covering Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia.

Thats some "riding".   I would love to take another trip out west, but....   as I told someone else, riding 500 miles a day is no longer a "thing".  I think I could do it but don't know if the wife could.   Otherwise it would make for a long trip.   Still, can be done.

We do not ride 500 miles a day. On rare occasions we will ride 400 miles but it is rare. I like traveling with my wife so no long riding days.

If I divide 15,000 miles by 90 days that is 167 mile days.  We do not ride every day so riding days are usually 250 to 300.  My gas cap gets opened way more often than when I ride alone.
So I needed to get use to more stops in a day but I am good with that because of the benefit of having my wife along.

Try to pick destination and not routes and time so you can change your route according to weather. Holding up when you need to or just want to. Also night riding in places you have already seen especially across the plains to avoid the heat and the stress it will cause. Remember riding is suppose to be enjoyable.

CR,

Seriously, the only advice I can offer that I'm truly committed to is: Ride to the end of your driveway and turn one way or the other... Enjoy!!!

I have not thought about doing the BRP bottom to top.  I think I did it once in a car many years ago but....

Allow 4 days and take in the Skyline Drive also.

Don't Forget that Inzane is in Roanoke this year.

There will be some good roads and good rides.

First a late winter trip to FL.  Tried it last year but got into some very heavy rain and did not do the Panhandle Gulf Coast part.

Swing a little farther south to go to Cedar Key then head towards Ocala and pick up SR 40 to Ormond Beach from there take A1A as far north as you can.

Cedar Key is the second oldest community in FL and still has a very old feel to it.

SR 40 runs through a long stretch of State Forest.

A1A from Ormond to St Augustine is really nice.

The restaurant on the Pier at Flagler Beach used to be really good and Fort Mantanzas is worth seeing along the way.

Cedar Key to Appalachicola and take all the paved dead end roads down to the Gulf.   A loop through Steenhatchee and along the coast.

Watch out for sand in the curves!!!
