Evidently Jeremy Renner was badly injured by a snowplow.  Anybody know what happened?    He is in bad shape.  All I find on internet is he has blunt force trauma to chest.

I've also been interested in this accident.   While I can imagine all kinds of ways he could have been injured, nothing has been put out there that I know of.    Hope the best for him but, I'm very interested to know how this happened.   I do just about everything alone/by myself.

I've learned to not go up on the roof without an observer and I generally won't operate a chainsaw alone although there are exceptions to that.   Obviously, I don't operate a snow plow in Southern Mississippi but, I do operate a tractor with FEL and mow on some slanted terrain.   Hoping they eventually let the details about this out.   We all might learn something about what we should or shouldn't be doing.

Latest that I read is he has a tracked snow plow with a cab. He got out for some reason and it ran over his leg with severe damage and huge blood loss. There will be further investigation because the Arctic Cat has safety devices to prevent this type of event.

Hmm, well let's hope he survives.

My Kubota tractor has a bunch of safety switches on it.   If I dismount with the PTO engaged, it dies.   Because it got a hydro transmission, you have to stay seated with it in motion or, it dies.   It also has a roll over safety switch, if the tractor gets to a certain angle, it dies.   I am certain these switches can go bad but, I believe they would normally fail in the safe mode.  One can or could always wire around these switches but, it would be foolish to do so.

Heck, my zero turn mower dies if I get off the seat while the blades are turning.  Sure hope he's gonna be alright, he's not only a good actor but a genuinely nice guy (I'm told).

Edited:  Fox News just reported that Renner was run over by his snowplow with significant injury to his leg with a lot of blood loss, also chest injuries.   His neighbor (a doctor) applied a tourniquet and stayed with him until the EMS helicopter arrived.

Is this 100% accurate?  Who knows.........   Roll Eyes

Here’s a link with some photos of him at his house and with the plow he was operating. There’s also a link for social media that show the machine and him driving. No photos of accident or scene of.

Jeremy Renner breaks silence after getting run over by snowcat: See him from hospital bed

During a press conference Tuesday, Sherriff Darin Balaam offered further details about the "tragic accident."

Balaam gave a timeline of events, saying a 911 call regarding a crash in which someone was run over by a snowcat was received at 8:55 am on Sunday. Units were dispatched minutes later, with the first arriving at 9:30 am after getting delayed due to weather conditions. The previous night, the area received approximately three feet of fresh snow, and multiple cars had been abandoned on the roads. Renner was lifted to a hospital via carrier flight at 9:56 am.

Balaam said the accident occurred after Renner used his snowcat to help a family member who had driven one of Renner's personal vehicles and was stuck in the snow near the actor's home.

After towing the vehicle with his snowcat, which weighs over 14,000 pounds, Renner got out to speak to the family member, when his snowcat started to roll, Balaam said. He added Renner was run over by the snowcat while attempting to get back in its driver's seat. The snowcat came to rest in a pile of snow.

"We do not believe Mr. Renner was impaired at all, and we believe this is a tragic accident," Balaam said, adding his office is investigating possible mechanical failure as  a reason why the snowcat rolled. "We do not suspect any foul play."
