So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

« Reply #40 on: January 21, 2023, 11:20:14 AM »

There’s a rumor going around that this year there will be a wet t-shirt contest for the ladies and a wet speedo contest for the guys, or was it the other way around, wet T-shirts for the guys and wet speedos for the ladies. Either way, I won’t be participating as that could cause an immediate dispersal of the general area.

I think this idea was a replacement for the moon contest posted on Facebook!

WHOA!!!!

There has been no announcement of any such thing.   Any such activities will most certainly occur after the DUNK TANK.   Wink
No, we aren't having a Dunk Tank.

Rams

Exactly, how else will the t-shirts and speedos get wet?

Ya need to check the fine print.  Wink

Well, that's always possible.   I recently heard this, a rumor that you'll be performing Karaoke.     What songs can we expect to hear?

Hey, your second (or was it third) place last year was nothing to be ashamed of.

Although, blaming the airlines for the loss of Psycho's luggage was stretching it a bit.   Making him wear your stuff (although entertaining) was not really necessary.

If you heard that I’ll be singing karaoke, the lying has definitely started.
However, should that urge arise, I promise to do you all a favor and sing solo. As in “so low” you can’t hear me!

Janice,
I'm sure it's just a rumor started by one of your fans.
Or, is this an attempt to enter into the Lying Contest by denying your talents?

Madam, you'll have to ask those questions to the real judge, he/she would know the answers.   I'd tell you everything I know about it but, I doubt you'd believe me.   No Embellishment Required.   2funny

Edited:   OK, now back to Spring Fling things.   Spoke to the Hotel Manager and she has sent me a list of those who have actually registered and their assigned room numbers.   Told me that everyone wants the two bed rooms. Told her that didn't surprise me, most folks share a room with a friend when possible.    Asked me to remind everyone that she has a bunch of King bed rooms also.   OK, so now you've been advised again.

Some things are hard to plan and even more difficult to execute.

I've been struggling with what I should plan for the Saturday night activities.   I've tried the dinner at some location with multiple ride captains guiding folks to the selected location, tried setting up a meal at GZ hotel, and tried just advising folks on good places to eat.   The last seemed to be the most satisfying to those who asked.  The biggest reason I believe the other things didn't turn out as planned is because folks want to eat what they want to eat with who they want to eat with.   That's just my opinion but, it seems to be true.

So, this year, I'm thinking I'll still advise folks on where they can get whatever.   Spoke to a caterer or three about serving a meal in the GZ meeting room but, that got expensive very quickly.   The caterer needed a headcount, I couldn't provide that number since folks don't let me know far enough in advance.

So, I've found a food truck that will roll right into the hotel parking lot and provide nourishment off the back bumper (so to speak).   I'm told the BBQ he serves is really good but, I'm no expert on BBQ.

If, anyone has something specific in mind they'd like, let me know.   I'll see what I can arrange.  Otherwise, be prepared to kick tires, tell lies and eat at one of the restaurants located very close to GZ.  There are some good ones.   I'm told the Italian restaurant is really good.   Personally, I'm more of a steak and taters kind of guy.  Wink

Let people get their own food.

Get some cold beer on ice and a stripper with boom box.   Grin
(though I have no idea how many wives you get)

I attended a Lt Col (pilot's) retirement party at his base quarters, and his wife hired a stripper (sort of).  She was well endowed and dressed as a nurse, and while some clothes came off, her old fashioned corset and other lingerie really covered much more than even the most conservative bathing suit.  Even their (older) kids were there.  Everyone had a good time.  She was a hoot and made him sit on her lap and used her stethoscope on him.

I regret to inform all contestants that I just won the lying contest, and I didn't even know it at the time.

I made some concessions with the boss and financial director, some of which were quite painful, but I currently AM going to be attending, along with Blake (The triplet that hasn't had a major motorcycle ride yet)

Just got off the phone with ground zero motel, I'm bagged and tagged....

I told her I prefer bottom floor, but as I'm one of the younger and more nimble folks attending, if a more aged, senior rider needs said bottom floor room I'd be willing to be moved upstairs...

Making memories with the youngsters is priceless. The pain will diminish as the years go by and you reflect on the experiences and pictures that capture them. Happy you’re going to make it!

Ground Zero:

Millennium Inn
6541 US Highway 49
Hattiesburg, MS 39401
601-264-8080

Query/possible issue?

You listed the above address, but the receipt the motel texted me has the address as:

4301 Hardy Street
Hattiesburg, MS 39402

Which according to Google Maps is 3.6 miles away?

Can you clarify which is the proper address? Trying to get my routes planned, notes taken, all that fun stuff...

From Google Streetview, it LOOKS like the Hardy Street is the correct address, but double checking...

Thanks!

Carl,
Wasn't planning on the beer thing although, I did call and ask John if he had a stethoscope.  Wink

It was the boom box I was most concerned about.   Wink

Boom Box?  Doubtful but, I have heard rumors about some members doing Karaoke.
Can that be done acappella?   Hmmm.......... Undecided

Let people get their own food.

Get some cold beer on ice and a stripper with boom box.   Grin

Rams, please disregard everything suggested by Jess.  Historically we're still waiting for his first meaningful suggestion.

This is a bit harsh Carl.  I regularly post humor (as above), but I try to be a good contributing member on more serious things too.

I have found that after a day of kicking tires, telling lies, and knocking back a few, riding to a restaurant for dinner isn’t always the best thing to do.  Places within walking distance is a definite plus.  Pizza delivery is the obvious answer but gets old. The idea of a food truck is (IMHO) awesome. Thanks Ron!

Serk … glad to hear you and Blake are going to make it. Good catch on the address!  Thanks.

Valker … when I first called the hotel, they did the same with me.  Angela called me several days later though and got the rest of my info.  She then texted me a confirmation receipt, so hang in there.

I'm pretty sure it was said in jest.  He must have forgot the winky emoticon.
