I'll start out with I use a LOT of pepper and hot sauce in my cooking. Eggs over or scrambled git a Healthy dose of pepper and hot sauce.
So today I took my already crushed red peppers and put them in my mortar and pestle and crushed that up fairly fine. Maybe a level teaspoon. Also crumble cooked some bulk sausage and when mixing up the hotcake batter I incorporated the crushed red peppers and sausage into the batter mix. And it turned out way BETTER than I could have hoped for. Just ENOUGH heat to let me KNOW it was There but NOT overpowering the sausage butter and pure maple syrup I use!  cooldude Your results WILL vary but as a suggestion just ease into what ever level of HEAT yer after. RIDE SAFE.
