So I took the tank badge warning sticker off using a heat gun and nothing is working on the goo left behind! I used wd40 and goo gone, it did not touch it.

I used one of these to remove the adhesive residue from my Interstate front fender after the emblem got knocked off.... Take it VERY SLOW and be patient, don't get too aggressive with it! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018WG2XYE/

On two of my Valkyries I used peanut butter on the adhesive and it worked perfectly. Smeared it over the adhesive, let it sit for 24 hours and it wiped off clean. The oils slowly dissolve the remaining adhesive.

I used boiled linseed oil to rub off the goo from my lawyer stickers.
It obliterated the goo from my 2014's brand new stickers.
I had to put some elbow grease into the old goo on my 1500.
I hope your heat gun didn't cure the goo on there even harder...

Caramel wheel,, Most hardware or auto stores, sold by 3M and others, (Tan rubber wheel for a grinder or drill ) Don’t stay in one spot or you will burn paint but it is very effective

Alas, nothing will touch what is left of the tank warning sticker. All I have left is the clear part of the sticker. It literally looks like I put a clear protective sticker on the tank. I guess not all Honda stickers are equal as this is on an ST 1300. I have tried all that was suggested minus the PB. I ate all the PB To my surprise the tan rubber wheel did not touch it! Tan rubber shavings all over the place and it did not touch it. All I can say is it looks better than the warning part of the sticker, not sure what if anything will take it off.

Using the heat gun probably cured it even more. I'd say anything oily with some viscosity like the peanut butter would be the way to go. Soaking/patience is a must. I would have used WD40 1st. w/o heat to remove but again patience needs to be used.

Soaking/patience ! ! !
when you want to get rock hard old window glazing out, let boiled linseed oil soak into it for a while...

I had a similar issue with a vinyl sticker on the hood of my jeep. Tried everything mentioned above and more. turns out the heat/time/sun/universe had burned or somehow merged the adhesive deep into the hood paint. Ended up having to paint over it. Even used 2000 grit sandpaper and water to wet sand the adhesive off, but even that failed. Anyway, painting over it worked as it was already buffed totally smooth. Hope you have better luck. In my search for a sticker remover I discovered this Orange fabric deodorant that worked better than wd-40 or anything else, but still didn't work on my issue.
If you figure it out, let me know!

f you can find something called 'OOPS' it works better than GooGone. You can also smear some peanut butter on it (not the crunchy kind).

If all else fails, a 6 inch wire brush grinder will do the job.

This might sound crazy but Avon Skin So Soft. My wife listened to me cuss for a couple hours trying to remove the adhesive left from a sticker with several different products then she handed me the bottle and said try this and it didn't take too long and it came right off. Since then I have used it many more times and it has always worked.
