It breaks my heart to see such violence and I hope the families of the victims can see some justice in the near future (at least in the case of the shooter that was arrested).

All that being said, keep in mind that Cali gun law is... byzantine and extremely restrictive, probably the worst in the whole country (maybe NY beat us in some aspects, dunno).

Fact of the matter is that any mass shooter will have a field day in the absolutely majority of places in California given that obtaining a CCW is out of the reach for regular people, unless you give money allegedly donate money to the local sheriff.

The only places where I feel truly safe is in my home and the range. I wonder why...?
 Wink

Obviously the politicians will come up with even more restrictions on legal gun owners... never let a tragedy go to waste. How many times I have to repeat that criminals don't care about laws?

The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing (i.e. new Cali gun restriction laws) and expect a different outcome.

What is puzzling for me is that some of my friends and relatives are in total favor to 'ban all guns' or some other non sense that will in fact only make things worst. I saw what happened in Brazil when there was an effective 'gun ban': exponential increase of violent crime.

It was by a lucky chance that I wasn't in the Gilroy Garlic festival in 2019 when there was a mass shooting. I got late home because I was doing a basic rifle training course and I decided to go for a steak house for lunch since it was my anniversary.

Since then my support for the 2nd only increased as I see the importance of self defense in such cases.

If anything, I guess I best hurry up and try to buy what I might be still missing in my personal armory before some new law makes it even more expensive (if not impossible).

Newsome doesn't know his backside from a hole in the ground...

And if you live in the following states - most  (if not all) of any recent additions to your state gun control laws are unconstitutional - NY, NJ, CT, Ma, DE, CA, WA, OR, HI, MD, and IL.

At least the vast majority of the county Sherrifs in IL have vowed to not enforce the latest from Gov J. B.. Pritzker

I have NOT studied this BUT a dollar to a donut sez these mass murders appear to take place in D controlled bastions with draconian gun laws. I Know gun violence has increased here lately but willin to wager states with decent carry laws may be less apt fer the wwrong doer to act cuz ya Never KNOW who is armed and who is a target. RIDE SAFE.

I no longer leave my home/property unarmed.  Ever.

I'm nearly always polite and kind to everyone.

I'm never looking for trouble, and will go the long way round to avoid it.

But I'm prepared for it.

Now the gun confiscation lobby is propagating the 'assault pistol' term:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twzWDZcC37E

WTF is an 'assault pistol'...?

My guess is that right now in Sacramento politicians are busy writing even more restrictions targeting semi-auto pistols.

Given what was done with the AWB (Assault Weapons Ban) law (https://giffords.org/lawcenter/state-laws/assault-weapons-in-california/) that castrated AR style rifles, I wonder what they will do with semi pistols...

Given we can't even have regular sized magazines or anything released in the last 20-ish years.

Make pistols break action?

NPR correspondent yesterday saying happily "and Mr. biden has introduced 373 (?) new laws." No comment about if any were not to the liking of some Americans.

Such a simple elegant solution keeps slipping the grasp or more likely the thought process's of politicians!  Roll Eyes ARREST CRIMINALS and after arrest keep them INCARCERATED! Should criminal cause harm to ANYONE no bail. Keep their sorry azzes LOCKED UP. And should the need arise build more jails holding facilities storage areas. And fer craps sake Quit MOLLYCODDLIN Criminals! RIDE SAFE.

Did anyone watch the video of the man at the dance venue disarm the gunman who walked in and was looking over the place? The guy did a great job disarming the guy (it was a few minute struggle) and after he got the gun away from him never pointed the gun back at him. The only thing he did do was point his finger while telling him to leave.
