Hi guys, I've gotten a few emails from members of this board, and am sure they're SPAM from fishers.

So for I've gotten exactly the same email from Attic Rat and Bikerboy, this one below.

"Hello,

How are you? Sorry to bother you, do you shop with Amazon?

Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone
Get Outlook for Android "

I wrote Attic Rat to let him know (around Christmas), and just now Bikerboy (who I meet up and ride with from time-to-time), and got a generic reply back asking fro me to buy him an online Amazon e-gift card. Sound more like someone looking for a sucker, not knowing where I live and Bikerboy.

"Good to hear from you, I've been trying to purchase a $200 Amazon e-Gift card by email, but it says they are having issues charging my card. I contacted my bank and they told me it would take a couple of days to get it sorted. I intend to buy it for my friend, whose birthday is today. Can you purchase it from your end for me? I'll refund it to you once my bank sorts the issue out. Let me know so I can send you her email. "

Unfortunately I don't have Bikerboys phone # to call and ask. But before replying I checked his email I had on hand for him, and a reply back from a different email. So how does this scam work, displaying the correct email, but replied back from another clone/different email address?

I get requests like that once in a while.   Sometimes I don't know for sure if it's SPAM or real so I always respond with I'm calling you or, you have my number, call me.   That has always stopped the conversation but, I do follow through with the call, spoke to Bob Smith recently over a similar issue.
