my Rogue was pushed a lane over a few minutes ago as we crossed the croton reservoir

These winds are gusting well over 50mph and the temp is already in the single digits

If I were on the bike it would have been disaster

I do not think I will be taking my normal walk in the morning  Shocked

Seems like a good day to just sit at home and watch the fire channel  in the family room

It's currently -5F on the ramp, planes are bouncing on their tethers. Wind is howling at 30 mph. Windchill is -40F....

A tad bit unpleasant.

Blegghhh... we got it at Christmas and it "only" got down to 7. Plenty
of wind, though.

Have fun chipping the ice out of the horse's water trough...

InZane 2022 we had cross wind hitting us on motorcycle's some up to 60 mph in all that nothingness out there. Going to be awhile if ever I go out there again .

When I lived on the high plains of Colorado I was in formed that the Only thing holding the wind back wuz a fence at the U S A/Canadian border and that fence wuz down in two places. RIDE SAFE.

I like this information. Next time I go across that area I will call to have the fence repaired.

We have had more serious winds this winter.   Thankfully they weren't during our cold snap.  We left WY and its winds more than two decades ago.   The last month reminded us why we left.  Lotf of 30-40 mph straight winds with gust up to 50 lasting more than 24 hours.  Few miles to the east, winds were up to 60 plus.   Lots of storm fronts coming through.

When it blows this hard... it sucks.

Around my house, when it blows this hard, you are in danger of getting chunks of oak deadwood falling on your head (roof, shed, truck, yada).

I've been walking 2 miles around my neighborhood daily for a long time.  Cold isn't too bad, but cold and a hard blow together freezes your face off.   So treadmill.

Gosh, sounds a bit chilli.   I know this, yesterday while applying a weed and feed to the back yard, I did need want a long sleeve shirt.

Will most likely be mowing again in a week or two.   Learning life's lessons the hard way ain't always the best way.  Wink
