72 degrees on Wednesday and not near enough seat time due to grandkids duty, but the 50 or miles was appreciated in February. Yesterday, rain for 12 hours straight! Today a light dusting of snow on the rooftops. Better days are coming.

It's been unseasonably warm here, but with lots of rain too.
Got in three rides last week and one this week (which was delayed due to early rain).
Rained all night again.
My contiguous neighbors and I all get some standing water in low spots from time to time in heavy rains, but for the first time, I discovered minor flooding behind my bike shed (at the back of my back yard). No water got in (this time), but it's never pooled up there before (that I've ever seen). There is a backyard sewer drain, one or two houses down behind me and I am wondering if it has been allowed to get clogged up (upstream of the low spot running down between all our house's backyards).
I can't see it from my shed roof, and may have to go knocking on doors. Crap.
If it's not one thing, it's another.

Suppose to be in the low 50's tomorrow. Ride is planned, got in two 110 mile rides last week. Then had a 1" white event on Tuesday. There is another storm heading in on next Monday night thru Thursday. Snow down to 500' level. We live at 4000', so expect some new snow on the ground.

Better days are coming.
https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=38.545&lon=-106.9321I sure hope so! Currently -13°f (real temp) at 9:44 am. Looks like a big multi-day snowstorm with heavy winds is coming in starting manyana. Feet of snow on he ground already. It's been a helluva winter, and due to that I'm almost out of firewood. You guys out riding are mighty lucky. When it gets warm enough, I get to begin working on my bikes -- again. One is mysteriously out of commission (again), other needs a new kickstand and thermostat.

Valkorado, feel for you as I get ready to go for a ride later today. There is a good size storm hitting us later on Monday or Tuesday. Suppose to last for a couple of day. So, get ready for more "Feet" of snow.

in a few more weeks into March will be the turnaround for weather, or so I hope. Reached sunny and 46 for a HIGH today HEAT wave. more snow coming though this week for the 3rd Thursday in a row. nothing we cannot handle though 4-6 inches each time not too bad driveable in it for sure on 4 wheels, NOT 2 wheels though.
Drove east of Dubuque IA yesterday and was in AWE seeing 3 cycles about 1 hour east near Manchester/Cedar Falls IA doing 75 mph in 20 mph winds in 41 degree temps on hwy. 20. NOT for me, was tons of melting runoff on the roads and pavement was full of salt all over from past snow. Guess they got the cycle bug WAY early.

Watching that one. Wednesdays forecast is calling for 100% chance of snow (actually starting Tuesday night). The Severe Weather Alerts are calling for 12 to 24 inches, with wind gusts of 55 to 70.

Just before this I was walking Joey on the closed BRP and a Ranger came past with a small convoy of cars. They had opened the gates to allow traffic back onto the BRP after a cold weather closure. So I took Joey for a second walk at Waterrock Knob.

Upper 60's/low 70's today in The Republic... The elder spawn wanted to go for a ride while we've got her here for "One More Day" so..... She's started referring to my Valk as "Her" Valk.... had to correct her on that a few times..... Rode to a hole in the wall country place I like.... $9 chopped steak with corn nuggets and fried green beans. Yes please! (She surprised me by insisting on paying for lunch with her luxurious E-3 salary... Heh) Rode by the spillway of a dam at a nearby lake..... Obligatory stop at Buc-Eees..... Overall, a wonderful day! Can't complain (But sometimes I still do).....

Thank you for sharing and especially the pictures. It's good to see our soldier looking all grown up and doing well. She gets leave time every year. I hope to see her at InZane.

Very cool! I didn't post it initially, but the spot that is currently a dam for a lake form the ride I posted above has a historical marker, that location was evidently a muster point for the CSA troops during the War of Yankee Aggression:

There are records and re-enactments of the battle of Richmond which may or may not have included these CSA troops. Richmond is less than 20 miles from Fort Boonesboro which of course had been abandoned long before the War of Yankee Aggression. My home is about 8 miles from Fort Boonesboro. I have another site, maybe a 1/2 mile up the hill from the State Park, is an actual Fort, I don’t know if it is a preserved fort from that period or a replica. It was shut down to visitors during Covid also. It will be interesting to find out.
