I loved the movie but listening to it from the guys who know who have flown and know the realism of the planes and actions. It brought tears to their eyes to see the F14,  and to watch these normal guys touched and love the movie is awesome.

Much credit to the producers, Tom and the tech guys who advised them on the correctness.

I think all will enjoy this, from Epochtimes , not behind a paywall though.

A unique behind-the-scenes perspective of the U.S. Navy’s support in making the Top Gun sequel. Two senior naval officers are sent by the Navy to advise the director and producers of “Top Gun: Maverick,” ensuring naval aviation is portrayed correctly.

Saw the 1st top gun flick in a truck stop and I questioned immediately goose hitting the canopy on the punch out sequence. 2 chairs over from me was a foremer F 4 U S Navy Phantom driver and he informed me politely of exactly How that could happen in a flat spin. And I relayed to him how I was a Former U S Navy A M E. What he said next made me KNOW he was Exactly Who he said he was-a Former Phantom driver. He stated more or less-without the enlisted tech types he had nothing to drive. And I replied something like-you got That RIGHT Sir!  2funny Have Not yet seen the 2nd top gun. wurkin on it. RIDE SAFE.
