that point in life when you realize that the best of life has passed you by and the hopefully long slide into the grave has begun..my C 8 vette was purchased 1 year ago and not being much on electronics-I looked at dash the other day and saw the odometer read some 5,500 miles  but the horror was looking at my average speed for those miles was..wait for it..33 mph... Cry  it's almost a mile to work and 1 trip from DFW to Springfield Mo....oh well the hot rodded Valkyrie is getting new licence plates and oil change and is more visceral anyway unless you you stomp on the other... cooldude

5500 miles in one year! You have virtually ruined your resell value. Grin

probably about avg. for a sports car at 6K miles per year, not many are daily drivers.  I would say if you can afford a corvette, then no great sadness, even at 33 mph avg speed.

My daily commuter car over 115K miles now,  almost all hwy. miles, about 18-20K miles per year have never reset the avg mph speed and is 45 mph, even though feels like should be 50-55 mph since almost all hwy. miles doing 63 mph seems like.     somehow the avg mph speed must take into account stopping at stop signs not moving and idling which is guessing 5 minutes of my daily drive and at most 3-4 miles per day in town driving.

... and the hopefully long slide into the grave has begun...

The journey begins at the cradle and ends at the grave.  We don't know what was the best part until it's over.   Cool

I call those well cared for miles.  I have a 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab Big Horn Edition I bought brand new and put every one of it's 73k miles.  If my math is correct I'm averaging about 4300 miles per year. Truck is in excellent condition inside & out.  I plan on keeping it until it has no more use of me. Smiley

Average speed 33mph and 5,500 miles…that’s like using a thoroughbred for casual strolls through the pasture, maybe a Chevette would have been better  Grin

Get that sucker out somewhere and open her up and let her run like she was made to.

Added for effect; hope you saw the movie.

I am considering doing the "Big Bend Open Road Race" again...pretty flat out in that one  for some 150 miles or so on a closed highway but I do not want to repeat the rookie protocols and spending a week...I got a 3rd place being 3/10's of a second my exact time after a 2 way run some 18 years ago in my  2003 Zo6.....it redlined at 178 mph in 5th --6th is an overdrive and would only do 160 MPH....I took 2 doves thru the the front radiator grills ...the race queen was nice....but had some little ones I wasn't ready for cooldude
