An old high school friend reached out to me to let me know that's he's selling his 1983 GL 1100. I haven't actually seen it in person, but he's told me that its always been garaged and polished.  It's got 20,267 miles on the clock and his asking price is $4,500. He lives in Barnstable, MA, Cape Cod. For those who may be interested, send me a personal message with your full name, address and telephone number and I'll provide his contact information.   Wink

Holy Crap! That was my first real bike.

In 1996 I bought a 1984 1200 Goldwing...Supposedly the first year with the 1200 motor.
The previous owner had a Vetter fairing on it....That was quickly removed and original headlight reinstalled.
We rode that Goldwing for 2 years then ordered the black and silver Valkyrie...
99k miles later I ordered the Roadie ad sold the Valk....

In 1981 I bought a new 1100 Wing. Put Vetter fairing and bags and trunk on it and wound up in Lincoln Nebraska.  Cheesy

I bought a 30 pack of beer and went to the hotel and watched the weather report. The passes to the west were closed due to snow. The south was inundated with tornados. So I  headed east and wound up in Albany NY where I had one of the best Rib Eyes I had ever had. Then home and next morning headed to Cape Cod. I had 6 weeks of vacation time to use up.  THE END. Cheesy

Rode it for 5 years or so. Put almost 80,000 miles on it. Plus bought and sold other HDs. The HDs were just most comfortable for a man of my stature.

Wow, that's a lot of miles in five years! I understand how tall guys like you can feel jammed up with the location of the pegs on the Wing. The HD gives you room to stretch out on the floor boards and be more comfortable. Sorry for my wise guy post.  Wink
