Thanks for posting that.  Something more common is combining common household bleach and ammonia cleaners.  Chlorine gas will result with similiar short term effect including death but not the long term effects.

Phosgene is nasty stuff. I believe the Nazis used it to exterminate people.
It is formed when you burn Freon also. Been there done that.

When we moved into our house in Wisconsin I was burning a bunch of trash they had left behind and threw a bunch of "wood" slats from the blinds in to the barrel.
Holy crap! the smoke was so thick you couldn't see the house! It fumes were so bad I had all I could do to make it to the garage! I was sick for days.
I guess they weren't wood?  Roll Eyes

Nasty.
Another common product is pretty dangerous too.
Silicone sealant.
When subject to high heat or burning it produces Phosphoric acid. If this stuff if it gets on you heads straight for your bones. Water DOES NOT dilute it, you need Sodium Glutamate to neutralize it.
Amputation and/or death is the usual outcome.
Not just sealant,Viton O rings and a lot of "plastics" contain the same stufF.
I would not use it on exhausts, some people think Silicone is an all round sealant and use it anywhere.
If you are chasing parts from a vehicle that has been in fire be aware and very careful

We were just talking about getting off subject on another post.. Phew, sure is easy to do isn't it??  Good info though.. I was going to suggest that if you were worried about the phosgene that you might twist the right hand a little harder and let the poor soul behind you worry about it..  Roll Eyes
