So, a riding buddy has been telling me my headlights aren’t bright enough. He never complained until he upgraded to LED. So I stumbled on this while goofing off on line. I’ll follow up with results. Just wondering if anyone has tried these. Not a bad chance to take if it works well it’s a great deal

I think I ordered the same one! Ran it for a couple years before I switched to a VTX headlight with LED array.
I really liked it. Nice and bright, didn’t get too hot. Perfect easy swap out. I think the design of the reflectors in the bucket and the shape of the bulb made it so it didn’t change the focus of the light thrown. Definitely worth the 30 bucks IMHO
And really the light was a big difference. Bright and clear

Is there any reason those wouldn't fit the Interstate (a pair)?
So no tabs need snapped off like regular H4/9003 bulbs?

I don’t see why not Jess. It’s a 9003 H4. Just LED.

Consider the effect of blinding headlights on oncoming traffic before installing blinding headlights. I go to highbeams on every ahole that comes at me with blinding headlights.

It’s all about the aim

I'm with you on blinding headlights.... at night. I went for my first night ride in a couple years a week ago, and it seemed like all the cars were on brights (modern LEDs). They weren't, but I had to revert to my technique of looking at the yellow line on my side of the road to avoid blinding. And it reminded me why I don't ride at night much. I run regular H4 halogens (interstate twin bulbs) but in off road 80/100s. My dims are aimed good and low, and I never get flashed, but my brights are like 20 times brighter (and much higher) than dims.
But many of us don't do all that much night riding (me neither, truck or bikes).
The principle issue for me is being seen in daylight when I do 99% of my riding.
Many bikes run brights all day in daylight. I don't.

The Valkyrie headlight reflector seems well suited to LED's. I had leds in my Fj Cruiser and the beam pattern was horrid. Always blinding people no matter how I aimed it. With leds it's all about the reflector. I have a Cyclops led bulb in my Valk and I get 1/2 mile throw easy on high beam.

Yeah, we're getting out-done even with the halogen bulbs. I gotta try one of those, too.

The U.S. DOT is the reason for the non-H4 base headlamps. Something to do with more than 90 watts of light from the dual beam housing. I bought a European headlamp housing for my other bike (ST1100). It is designed to fit H4 base lamps. It also has a superior light pattern.

Some of the Concours 14 crowd run those. I put a pair in my '12 last year and like the light much better than the HIDs it replaced, along with that of the stock 9003s.

Ok so the LED bulb is in. I did have to lower the aim just a tad to get the light where I wanted it on the road. I also got the H3 bulbs for the spots because it looked funny mixing LED and Non LED. I’m sure it’s not as bright as a day maker conversion but it’s certainly an upgrade. All three bulbs with shipping was about $50.

I'm personally a bit of a stickler for putting LED "bulbs" in a housing that was not designed to work with LEDs but a radiating filament. You will always have hot spots/blinding spots regardless of the bulb (and fully guilty of myself). I do appreciate/prefer retrofitting to projectors designed for HID or LED because you use the light more efficiently and appropriately as the reflectors are designed with the LED bulb light source positioning in mind and the type of light emission. I'm currently looking at this myself https://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/Cyclops-Phoenix-LED-Headlight_p_151.html. I know it's a bit more, but increasing light raw output isn't what's important, rather increase light output that is useable, focused, and controlled. I've just seen many cases where LED blubs are put into a housing not designed for it, and you actually have LESS light on the road. anywho - m2c - interested to see how this blub works for ya

I just put one in my bike: Way brighter, and a very wide pattern. They seem ti be pretty well designed and made, Theres a reflector above one of the elements on each side, and the other is unshielded. I want wait to try it out in our local canyon, Carbon Cyn. The light pattern is very wide and low but seems to cut off cleanly at car eye level, I guess. After I get the new seatcovers put on.

Got a chance to ride where there was no ambient light at all. These lights are magnificent. We spent 3 days up on Cheaha mountain. I had no trouble seeing the road and the sides which was important because the critters were out. I’m sure they are not blinding anyone the way I have them set. It’s a great great improvement.

one of these will be my next bulb for sure. brights are fine but dims sorta iffy. I agree, the weird coloring and way way too bright LED's on vehicles nowadays suck blinding for sure. My wife has LED on her 2019 tucson sport model and have not been flashed but the dims are awesome and so are the brights. IMO well worth the money.

Chris are the LED H3's much longer than standard H3's? I have a pair of small floods but don't know if a longer bulb would fit.

I didn’t measure. If they are longer it’s not much. There was no concern over it not fitting correctly when I installed them.
