I know I can just look it up, but it's strange that, to me, they only appear to be in Chicago.  I see one every now and then on FOX and I used to see one every now and then on "Good Times".

  Aldermen serve under a mayor. Trustees serve under a village president.  There are also leaches that serve under village idiots.

I thought aldermen were the guys you paid the bribes to, then he splits it up with the rest of the team.

Always wondered what the term "aldermen" meant.  Seems its "old men".   Or "older men".   

Does not fit I guess anymore with women onboard.   

There are times I miss the old terms.   In this case, Town Council is good enough.
