So my battery went bad. Put in a new one and now it wont start, lights dont come on or anything. Anything simple I should check? thanks for the help

Check the ground wire to the frame.  Make certain it's tight.

Most ground wires go to the left back side of the transmission. I always put a ground strap from that transmission ground over to the frame. This makes a more positive ground.
May not be your problem but one to fix when checking for grounding problems.

Since I had my *cough, cough* issue in the last year, I always suggest checking the wires in the headlight bucket, especially if you had any accessories installed by the PO. In my case, it was a Cobra light bar, and one of the wires was cut, and the bar's lights spliced into it. If you have a loose wire in the bucket, that could do it.

I always throw a 2 amp. charge on a new battery especially if I had to add acid as that is a requirement. BTW battery tenders are not chargers. Don't ask how I know.  Wink
