Not being a smart aleck - if you go down the road and goose the throttle, let off, goose the throttle,
let off, a few times does it feel like you're riding a pogo stick? OEMs...
They do look different next to each other... I wish I remembered exactly... the OEM springs
are tighter wound on one end I think...
You'll want to have several bottles of new fluid.
You can measure the fluid level from the top of the fork tube (springs out):
Right
std/tourer: 5.3 inches
Interstate: 5.4 inches
Left
std/tourer: 5.6 inches
Interstate: 5.8 inches
There's a tool for the right side, I don't know any way around it (or a facsimile)...
You have to overcome the compression of the springs to get to where you can swap out the springs,
it is different on each side...
