The Valk's wont turn short enough to ride in the garage unless I empty stuff out. There are two Valk's parked right under the camera!

Raymond

Best I could do in the garage which is 20 feet 5 inches with the junk in it right now.

Next time you take the bike to the track let's get on some gear.  The hospitals are full of riders who "weren't going that far" and didn't think they needed the gear.

Statistics indicate that a very large percentage of accidents happen within twenty-five miles of home.  I'm sorry but I couldn't find any stats on how many accidents happen in the garage, although I'm pretty certain the garage is within the twenty-file mile range.

Hey Ray, thanks for sharing the vicarious ride.

The amazing thing to me is that you have all that space inside your garage; likely more than anyone else in the whole country.  LOL  Very few can even get their cars in there, and it becomes the storage area for untold quantities of "stuff" (see George Carlin).

Nicely done. That said, the Valk will cut less than 20' circles. I do it all the time after my MSF classes. I always play with the range after class is over. uglystupid2

Yes it will just do a 20' circle but try it inside "four walls" sometimes from a dead start at full lock. Let me know later how you do. I did one full lap with both feet up but not on tape. It's a little hard to get any speed up when there is no room for adjustment or turnout.

I should just say, post it and prove it.

Interesting thought. I will look around and try to find a room with those dimensions. If I can find one, I'll record it.
Be careful with the carbon monoxide, my friend. Always makes me nervous to see a running vehicle in a garage.

you need to bank the track at about 45 degrees, that'll get your speed up.

Park two vechiles up against a corner somewhere. I'll be looking forward to your video. Hopefully we will run into each other this summer somewhere. We're not to far apart and I make it to Ok. and Texas quite often.

My first try wasn't so smooth and gives a little more perspective to just how close everything was.

that saying that most accidents happen within 25 miles from home cracks me up,,,why? because yes they do,,,,lets say i ridee 200 miles down the road.. the person that hits me will probably be within 25 miles of his home,,,,of if i hit someone it will probably near my home....see how that saying is sorta dumb?

Whaaa... is that a piano in the garage? A piano? In the garage? For the record, I did 5 laps around the table today, and not one of them complained. And it wasn't within 25 miles of home, so it wasn't an accident. I did ride yesterday about 12 miles to top off the tank & put in more Stabil. Got to take care of the rust before it becomes a pandemic. Thanks for the great videos of your personal track!

Actually, no.  The laughable situation you described would mean that most accidents happen within twenty-five miles of SOMEONE'S home.  If we quoted that we could confidently say that all accidents happen within twenty-five miles of someone's home.  Indeed that would be without purposeful meaning.

Truthfully, I was just joking, but the reference was accurate.  I probably should have used the original form of the statement and that is that a driver (not necessarily just a motorcycle rider) is most likely to be involved in an accident within twenty-five miles of his, or her, own home.  My personal experience bears this out as over some forty plus years I've been involved in a number of accidents and only one was more than twenty-five miles from my home.

The statistics are easily explained in that the overwhelming majority of us do most of our miles of riding or driving within twenty-five miles of home.  Add to that that many of the miles we ride or drive that are more than twenty-five miles from home are on long stretches of highway few few or no intersections.

Statistics are fun, but they often don't indicate what we think they do.  More often than not, when that happens it's more a case of misinterpretation than of incorrect statistics.

That said, I never bother to put on a helmet in my garage.   Wink

Isn't that what clutches are for? And it's under warranty for several more years. HAHA

I think as long as the rivets stay in the Honda clutches they last a long time. Several people can attest that I put my first Interstates clutch to the test many times and it was still going strong at 138,000 miles.

A good friend of mine once told me the way to teach someone clutch control is have them start out in third gear. Good idea.

I might have to walk up to the shed my bike is in and ride back and forth.

They've canceled classes for me for tomorrow so I won't be back in the ride to work thread for a while.

Sometimes you just have to ride where you can.

Ps, my in laws have something that was once a piano on their front porch. It would have fared better in a garage.

The boredom continues.  coolsmiley

Right handed for Mongo. That first turn before the back straight is a tough one. Notice the speed going down the front straight in front of the grandstands.  Cheesy

Any more requests? I'm about out of ideas for winter rides.

Anyone as bored as me care to see which way I rode the 5 laps faster from kickstand to kickstand?
