I have had (knock on wood) good results in recommendations from members here. I am at my daughters home this weekend and her dishwasher control board went "south". It cost $400 to replace. (I don't have the brand but will post if when I ask her again).
She wants to replace it. She wants to make the purchase this weekend due to the Memorial Day sales available.
It is installed in the counter, so it is not stand alone.
Again, any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I just bought my second GE Adora from Home Depot. Quiet and worked well for several years. Board quit as well. Bought the same as we were happy with what we had but did notice the price increase. It still was cheaper than the rest and it is very quiet.

I installed a maytag 2 years ago and it's still working flawlessly. I liked because it didn't have any handles to bump your hip into sticking out it's also fairly quiet. As with most dishwashers it seems there is always something that doesn't quite fit correctly in the racks.

We have been happy with multiple Kenmore washers over the past 40 years. I believe they are generally made by Whirlpool (there is no actual "Kenmore," it is just another brand selling products using the Kenmore name). Most washers are quieter now because they no longer grind food as they used to. Instead of acting as garbage disposals, the washers "trap" larger food particles and require periodic cleaning of the trap if the dishes are not pre-rinsed.

The only thing I ever used a dishwasher for was to store pots and pans. When I bought my current home, there was a new portable taking up room in my small galley kitchen, so I removed the nice butcher-block wood top, and took it out at night and left it in front of a 7-11 dumpster (back when you could get away with that). Maybe if I had a big family I might have used one. My worst (bachelor) dishes hand-wash might take me all of 4 minutes (and I never let stuff pile up). It's my understanding you need to pre-wash (or wipe off) everything before it goes in anyway, so why not just finish by hand? And hand washing dishes gets your hands and nails nice and clean.

Bosch base model without the bells and whistles. Quiet and very dependable. They will try to upsell you. All the luxury cycles are soon lost to just one or two that get used most. Kind of like a Swiss army knife. da prez

It's super quiet so much I sometimes have to check it's still working. Only issue is there's no "dry" feature but I just open the door, if I'm near at the end of cleaning and let it evaporate dry. I only use the deep clean cycle, no need for any other options.

We replaced our 26 yr. old Maytag last year due to it being 26 yrs. old with no issues. Replaced it with the 4949SKS Maytag in black like the old one. Took 6 mos./two different sellers to get it. Whirlpool made sure actual Maytag dealers got the product 1st. not the box stores. Paid $50 (as Best Buy lied on inventory status) more to get it but we finally got it and it will be serviced by our dealer if needed. This unit is QUIET though our old one wasn't that bad for 1996' standards and all SS inside.

Gentlemen, thanks for all the comments and recommendations. I have passed them onto my daughter.
And, she just order (well a few hours ago) the Model 300. Suppose to be here (her home in Chester, VA) on Monday.

When I first saw your post I was immediately remined of all the time I spent washing dishes with my brothers as we were my mothers dishwasher. We often had a little dish water fight and had to clean that up too. Nothing worse than getting a dirty dishrag in your face. I love my dish washer but I kind of miss those dish water fights.

I assure you, there is significantly worse than a dirty dishrag but, I won't go into what the possibilities are. Due to moves around the country and other different reasons, we had several different dishwashers over the years. Warranty and quietness are the two things my "Professional Appliance Selector" looks for. She's convinced Bosche is the best. YMMV. Edited: She would also tell you to never buy the cheaper versions. So far, she seems to know what she speaks of. She did choose me. Rams
