She's kinda short on one end and getting on the trike is a "hold yer breath" moment...and amusing. It's the same from either side so I joked about getting her a small step stool, sorta like a short step ladder that's only about 2' high...would still be amusing though.  Any suggestions? Another shot of the happy couple, I really like having her in back of me while riding. Took a great ride yesterday...was beautiful weather so we took advantage of it.  |

What about part of a log. A-cut off end 2-3 inches. Just a bit of a boost. Then put it in the trunk.

I bought a folding plastic step stool for my Mom to get in and out of my pick up. It folds up to fit in the pocket on the door. I bought mine at Walmart but I am sure Amazon or anywhere would carry them.

I needed one of those for my short wife to get into her Mom's vehicle. She found a foldup plastic stool on Amazon that has fit the bill perfectly. |

Rob, I tried that once with my sister at about that same age. Got slapped so stepped back and she fell in a heap on the other side of the fence. I then got in trouble for not helping her and dad didn't believe it when I told him what she did. My sister never said a word...just stood there and laughed. From that day forward if she asked for help I told her to go get dad to do it. We never got along. |

My mom used a non folding stool with a rope attached to get into dads GMC 3/4 ton Duramax/Cummins. Once in, she hauled the stool up and in with the rope. Probably not so good for a bike.
The trike does not lean over (no low side). I suppose tall heeled-soled boots are out.
Classically, she steps one foot up on a passenger peg with one hand on your shoulder and the other on the trunk, then steps the other foot/leg over and slides onto the seat.
If she can't manage the passenger peg, maybe a small toe hold below the passenger peg on one side; big enough for her to step up on and get a leg over, but not low enough to ever drag. But a lower step means a taller leg swing over.
With a trike, you don't have to get on first to hod the bike steady. What about you giving her the old laced fingers foot boost up and over? Might be hard on your back though.

As I can't tell by your picture, do you still have the rear stock peg mounts to use? If so Kuryakyn Premium floorboards are very friendly in adjustment and offers great stepping ability/assist.

These are not that hard to find. My Wife has 3 of them around the house so I asked her where she got them because I know she didn't order from anywhere. She said she got them at Dollar General for one and about any box store has them too. You can probably go get one and have it before you can place an order. |

yep, that is a good one as well as the 12 inch tall one from walmart, both decent quality and fold flat. I do not own a ford f150 with the MAN step built into the tailgate, but a toyota tundra. I have mine bungee corded inside the truckbed to the side hook and have used it a few times to get into my truckbed since I can no longer HOP up like I use to. |

Thanks Jack, I checked it out...about 27 miles away. They don't list one for the Valkyrie so would probably have to design one...means cost would go up most likely but will ask about it anyway. They do make one for the 1500 Wing so maybe it could be adapted. Nancy already turned down my idea of a mini-trampoline. Nothing verbal...just a look!  |
