I've bought a pair of used exhausts, which are actually in very good condition once cleaned up, with a view of cutting the pigtails off.
I didn't want to do that on my originals.
However, I'm having difficulty getting the end cap off. I haven't tried the other one yet.
I've squirted in Penetrating Oil and have applied some heat and started banging the edge with a cold chisel but it's not moving.
Any advice please?

OK. I've managed it with more heat, more lubrication and a bit more chisel persuasion.
Presumably, you would have done the same.

My piggie's were cut and with stock tip's, very annoying at 60mph. cruising. I made a set of open slash cuts that produces a nice roar instead. Use SS bolts and anti seize going back together.

My I/S has exactly this setup. Throaty sound at lower speeds but you don't really notice it on the freeway.

Bought my first ( new ! ) Honda Valkyrie in 2000.....everyone was banging on then to cut the piggies off...which I did, and hated the rasping noise !!   Professionally  welded back on and the world was a happier place Grin
