Some of the prices I have seen on face book Valkyrie have made me wonder. If they get asking price , the bikes are worth a small fortune.  Some of the parts I have in stock are worth a lot as they are getting harder to find.  I saw a post of an Interstate (a runner) parted out. It makes me ill to see that. It is his bike to do as he pleases , but it hurts. I have only parted out bike that were not repairable. I always made money. I have never parted out a runner. I have bought and sold at least 10 Valks.

Seemed to me they bottomed out a year or two ago and the asking prices have gone back up some.  Never will be what they should be.  Is good to see some younger (under 30) riders switching to Valkyries.  We have seen 3-4 over the last couple of years.  They are always shocked how nice a Valkyie is compared to their other bides and how the prices are so low.  Dan

The bikes are relatively cheap, it's the add on stuff and bling that cost a fortune.
There isn't a V Twin I'd take in trade for one of my Valkyries but, not everyone has the same taste in bikes.

The classic Valkyrie is certainly an aging item that includes outdated technology.  It's natural that the prices (value?) has decreased.  Compared to other aged vehicles, though, it has actually held its value well.

We, a subset of the motorcycle riding population, see very high value in these bikes.  We know what they are and we are somewhat in love with them.  The population at large is not so taken.  That the value has remained up compared to other twenty year old vehicles has largely to do with us, the Valkyrie riding community, and likely that a number of us have chosen to own multiple Valkyries.

If you're looking for a growing investment, a classic Valkyrie is likely not a good choice.  If you're looking for a rewarding experience on a fine motorcycle for riding and traveling there is, in my opinion, no better choice.

I'm sure no one back in the day would have thought what the 750 four's are going for these day. I think " someday " the Valkyrie in good condition will demand classic prices.

Well said. It pains me because I do love these bikes. You are best served if you are able to do your own maintenance.

I bought my Tourer for $3000. It had been neglected in coastal Carolina. I now have over $15,000 in it. Granted a lot of it is "invested" in parts made of unobtainium. The only way I could ever hope to get that money back out is to sell all the pretty parts. That ain't happening any time soon.

that is what I tell the wife when she tells me I should sell 1 of the 2 Valks.   Around here, I think the value has slightly gone up in value vs. a few years ago, not much though.  Doubt we see 7-8K anymore, but 5-6K for most is still not too bad in value?   Have not seen one under 3K in o.k. running condition very often so for 2 grand or so from 3-5K,  I will keep them since NOTHING out there in that range I would want more so for a big cruiser.  The 1500 goldwing's value have seen drop a ton more than our Valks which I was considering some 10+ years ago when I got instead my 2001 VAlk I/S for at that time about same price range of 7-8K .   I did a U-turn with that say 1996 Goldwing and scraped the bottom plus it was slower for sure than the 2001 VAlk, so Valk it was.

Apparently, I missed out on this.  Have not heard of anyone collecting, restoring or even riding the old 750 four cylinder bikes.   I guess I need to get out there more.  Wink

If I was going to move on to another bike, it would most likely be a Wing but, I'm not old enough to qualify for one of those.  Wink

This will probably happen with Valkyrie.

Hopefully.   But my reason to hang on to and ride my Valkyries has nothing to do with potential increase in value.   Hoping to eventually pass them on to my adult children or grandchildren (of course, with a lot more miles on them).  Wink
