You know I never thought We would get this award. Especially coming from Wisconsin. It was like 870 miles. The award is for the least miles traveled trailering to Inzane. But I'll take it if it saves someone else the jokes about it. I did see a trailer in the parking lot from Virginia with a Valkyrie on it.  Grin

Hahaha!  The trailer in the parking lot from VA was Mark's, but he brought that Valk over so the tail light could be removed to give to me.  Mark had already ridden over (more than once) on a different Valkyrie before that happened... so I don't think he qualified for the Trailer Queen.

Ok, I know Mark did a wonderful job cooking for the early bird so I know he rode his Valk there.
There had to be someone else trailering that was closer than 870 miles.

Don, I think if someone had tailored from 10 miles out, they wouldn't have wanted to interrupt your righteous indignation to admit it.  Smiley It seems likely someone else actually "won" the award, but doubtful we will ever know who! I think you should display it proudly. Heck, I got there in a pickup truck. Fortunately for me they hadn't thought of that award yet. Although that cat is out of the bag now.

Indignation is not what I felt when I won that award.  A few years back (I think it was Morgantown).   I drove my Cummins pulling my RV toy hauler with my Valk inside the toy hauler, stayed at the campground.   The circumstances of why didn't matter, I trailered.   There simply isn't enough of me to ride one and drive the camper/toy hauler at the same time.   But, that's alright.

This year at RainZane I saw quite a few trailers.   Again, I trailered two of my Valkyries to Roanoke.  Was thinking about riding the Trike and towing the "Rat" bike there but, the single bike trailer I built doesn't have brakes and the I don't have a controller on the Trike.   Not about to tow that much weight without brakes.   So, I again used my truck and trailer to tow both bikes.

But, I hope this information helps, had I stayed at the award ceremony, I would have won the trailering award.   MapQuest shows my mileage at 748 miles.     Unfortunately for you, my injured knee sent me to me room.   You're welcome to forward that award to me.   I don't consider it a shameful award but one of doing what I needed to do to get there.

Watch yer six, there's some crazy folks on the roads ya know.  Wink

DDT,
I knew it wasn't you. Oli doesn't like trailers.

Dave,
Shortest distance by car or truck, sounds like another award, maybe not.

Rams,
I'm keeping it. Most people don't know that Barb and I bring the VRCC store with us. Otherwise we would ride to Inzane, but thanks for the offer.

LOL!  It's amazing the lengths some folks will go to to avoid the "Trailer Queen" award.  I think injuring one's knee may be the most extreme I've seen.

I left home trailering knowing it was a possibility, the left knee had nothing to do with it.   I'm just glad all those who attended however they got there.   I personally see the award as a way to embarrass the recipient and it appears theDon was.  I could be in error on that.

I suspect we'll be seeing a lot more "trailering" as time moves on.   After all, what's more important to the VRCC, two-wheeling it to InZane or trailering it just so folks can attend.   I assume staff would rather see folks get there any way they can.

The fact that I won the shortest trip trailered to an InZane was lost in the fact that my trailer (a Toy Hauler) was also my RV and IIRC, three other InZaners stayed with me in that "Trailer".

Anyway that brings up another source of transportation, Trikes, I saw more trikes at this InZane than ever before.   I could be in error on that also but, I suspect we'll be seeing even more in the future as we all age.   A lot of former Valk riders have moved on to Goldwings, shouldn't there be an award for the best Goldwing at a Valkyrie event?

There is a non-Valkyrie category in the bike show.... no one entered this year.
