My compliments to Missouri Highway Department

We were rolling on I-70 west of St. Louis. About fifty some odd miles from St. Louie and fifteen miles south of the interstate is Hermann, Missouri, a German settlement from almost 200 years gone by. There are several (eight or more?) wineries in Hermann and a good deal of traditional German influenced attractions. Lori Beth and I stopped there on our honeymoon thirty years ago and we like to go back when we can.
I made the exit and we rode down the extra fifteen miles for lunch and shopping.
On the way out rather than going back to I-70 I chose turn west on Missouri 94 and roll on U.S. 50 back into the Kansas City area. Missouri 94 is an excellent motorcycle road with ups and downs, left curves, right curves and very little traffic between Hermann and Portland, Missouri. From Portland on into Jefferson City, where it runs into US 50, it is still very good road but with a lot more straight away and less, or at least less dramatic, directional variance.
Good ride. If you're in the area sometime pick it out.

That is a nice ride. One year we were coming across from Pennsylvania and after St Louis, we were pretty much done with I-70 so we headed down to the Daniel Boone Burial site and then got on 94 and rode it to Jefferson City and spent the night. Next morning we got on US 50 and stayed on it until Montrose Colorado.
